Our non-profit organization, Kleaner Corp, will help eliminate the problem of contaminated water in low-income countries. There are many countries in the world that are in need of clean water, like Ghana, India, and Afghanistan. Clean water in an essential requirement for human life. However, many people do not have access to it in developing or poor countries, and sometimes, clean water is unavailable even in developed countries in emergency situations. One of the greatest dangers after a natural disaster is waterborne diseases, such as the Guinea worm. In 1986, 3.5 million people were infected with Guinea worm disease just in South Asia and West Africa alone. In the world today, 783 million people currently do not have access to clean water.

Like most other parasites, it is often times found in places like remote West Africa, like certain places in and near Ghana. Most commonly it causes blisters that usually get infected and cause swelling of the skin, joint infections, and tetanus, or lockjaw. Currently, there is no treatment for Guinea worm disease, so if a person is diagnosed with this disease, they will could possibly have effects of the disease for their whole life. While the death rate is low for Guinea worm disease, it can cause serious infections such as the ones above.
Our company is suitable to manufacture this product, because we will be focusing on a specific part of the world, Ghana, in order to help eliminate the problem of contaminated drinking water. When people only have dirty water to drink, they can become ill or poisoned from contaminants like the Guinea worm or lead.
