There will be 31 multiple choice and T/F questions (2 points each), 4 (pick from 6) short answer questions (3 points each), and one long answer question (25 points). This totals 99 points. I will give you 1 point for showing up.
The long answer question will be based on Stafford and Canary’s (1991) 5 relational maintenance typology and the different types of relationships we have discussed over the course of the semester.
Intercultural Relationships • Be able to define and provide examples for intercultural, interethnic, and interracial couples.
Interracial- differences in biology ex black and white interethnic- Social classes, religion. Rich person marrying a poor person, catholic marrying a Jew intercultural- someone from Japan marrying someone from the US. History and language are different. (social evolution theory) Women believe that feelings will lead to sex and men believe having sex will give a women a reason to have feelings. • What is the double-shot hypothesis?
