Unit: 8001: Personal development as a strategic leader
1 Introduction
To address the Learning Outcomes you are required to make statements as a senior/strategic manager or potential senior/strategic manager which demonstrate that you have fulfilled the Learning Outcomes given below. Your statements are to be prefixed with the specific Learning Outcome and should demonstrate your responsibilities and operation of personal development within your work area or in an organisation with which you are familiar.
Study at Level 8 requires you to be able to bring together several levels of analysis and synthesise of ideas from complex working environment and be able to deal with uncertainty through strong skill of critical evaluation and strategic impact. You should be able to work in abstract constructs and identify connections not only within a particular subject area but to other areas and to apply the generalised ideas and principles in such circumstances.
Thus you should be able to analyse and evaluate issues and challenges in your working environment using the tools you are learning in the unit to develop an implementation strategy to resolve them.
Note: If you are not in an organisation you should describe the principles and tools you would adopt and thus demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the learning outcomes.
Word count: In total, it is suggested that your statements should not be less than 3000 and not more than 3500 words. You should make appropriate use of tables, graphs, diagrams, Gantt charts and flowcharts etc. You must make sure that you reference any sources you have used to complete this assignment; listing reference material and web sites used. Appendices must not be included.
