Thesis Statement: Dubbing or remaking of foreign series lowers the standard of Filipino originality and creativity.
I. Dubbing and Remaking of Foreign Series
A. Formation of “imagined communities”
a. Although people do not share the same time and space they may construct a similar identity with one another.
b. It causes understanding because of the portrayal of the same hopes, desires, and dreams.

B. Mutual Relationship between Countries
a. Public awareness of a country’s relationship through the acceptance of a foreign artist.
b. Local artists are considered less professional.
c. Ignorance of a country’s own cinematic production.

II. Standard of Originality and Creativity
A. Originality
a. Subject matter is rooted from realities may it be related socially, economically, etc.
b. Discuss the involvement of music, arts, literature and beliefs.
c. Mirroring and exposure of ignored phenomena in society

B. Film Worth or Basis of Creativity
a. Application of “universal” norms in judging the worth of Filipino art.
b. Alien conditions are applied in film making because most of the norms are unattainable in the Philippine setting.
c. Local films are subjected to the same set of norms evaluating American films.
C. Lack of Creativity
a. The more the Philippine cinema tries to level with foreign movies or shows, the more there is a tendency for them to copy the themes. This is under lack of creativity because there are no new views or plot twists associated with the shows.
b. The more the Philippine cinema imports shows from other countries, the more the Philippine artists (directors, actors, etc.) are deprived of showcasing their talents.
c. In the effort for globalization, the level of creativity which is supposed to show the country’s culture is lessened. It is because in modern way of colonization, there is tendency for a country to adapt a society that is not entirely theirs.
