Kritias's The Story Of Atlantis: Real Or Real?

The story of Atlantis starts with a character by the name of Kritias tells of his account of Atlantis, told to his family generation ago by a priest during a family members visit to Egypt. It is said that there was a powerful and advances civilization located to the west of the “Pillars of Hercules”. The nation had been established by Poseidon, God of the Sea. Poseidon was the father of five sets of twins on the island. Atlas, the firstborn, had the surrounding ocean named after him and received one of ten sections of the island and then named it Atlantis. The civilization got to be very greedy and the gods proceeded to become very angry and destroyed the civilization with a giant earthquake and a tsunami four times bigger than the largest ever recorded (The UnMuseum). Atlantis was real and was destroyed and many facts are presented to prove that Atlantis was real and was also annihilated by natural disasters. Many say it is not real because the only evidence it ever existed was Plato’s book discussing the details and central idea of Atlantis, but there are many theoretical places it could be because of the
physical evidence presented all over the world. The physical relics that have been found to support Atlantis and its realism are from an obviously advanced race of people like the Atlantians. Atlantis was real and was sunk because of an earthquake and then a huge tsunami bigger than the world had ever seen in recorded times. The original story of Atlantis was conceived by the magnificent Greek writer and philosopher, Plato, in 355 B.C. (The UnMuseum). Atlantis was originally thought to be located West of The Pillars of Hercules, which we now know as the Strait of Gibraltar, but we have no idea where it actually is because evidence point to Atlantis being in so many places (The UnMuseum). The story states that Poseidon established this exuberant culture for his oldest of seven sons, Atlas, which was the most unrealistic part of this otherwise true tale of an economically and technologically advanced society. The reason he destruction was several cataclysmic natural disasters that were the worst disasters by far that this world has ever had on record (What Evidence is There to Support). Atlantis was real and the memory of Atlantis will live on forever at least in stories and lessons learned from the story forever even if it’s just in the form of a fabled myth. A lot of people against the thought that Atlantis existed say that there is no physical evidence to present to show that Atlantis existed other than the stories said to be myth by some and fact by others, except that there are numerous examples of physical artifacts. Aristotle said that his teacher’s, Plato, stories were exactly that stories and nothing more, except we don’t know that for sure because the work that would have solidified this mystery was lost centuries ago (The UnMuseum). Many scientists discredit the idea of Atlantis with the thought that there is no evidence other than the story of Atlantis, but there are many artifacts that lead people to believe in a society greatly advanced for its own time like the Antikythera Device which is like an ancient scientific calculator that is just as accurate as the current calculators of today’s times (Welcome to Atlantis Evidence). Many experts conclude that the mythological standpoint of the story makes the idea of Atlantis unfathomable and unbelievable but there is proof lie the OOPART’s, out of place artifacts, that are present throughout the word such as toys resembling airplanes long before airplanes near Egypt (What Evidence Is There). The oppositions of the idea that Atlantis never existed are wrong and there is proof that it did exists. The facts that support that Atlantis exists are the OOPART’s, similar endings to other civilizations near that time period, and advanced artifacts found to be very old and far beyond their own time. The Solar Boat in Egypt was powerful enough to travel oceans even to lengths where Atlantis would have been which would have been far advanced beyond its own time (Welcome To Atlantis Evidence). The Antikythera Device was a scientific calculator, previously discussed in this paper, was way ahead of its own time and is exactly right in its calculations, according to modern day calculations (Welcome To Atlantis Evidence). There were children toys in and around Egypt that closely resembled airplanes and even flew which would lead one to believe that and advanced civilization such as an Atlantian civilization existed (What Evidence Is There). The ending of the Minoan civilization was very similar almost down to the severity of the disastrous, cataclysmic ending to this thriving civilization as Atlantis; they were both completely destroyed by an earthquake quickly followed with a leveling tsunami (What Evidence Is There). Atlantis is not, as many say it is, a fantasy but as real as the air we breathe and there are many facts previously presented that prove this innovative civilization thrived and was torn down by natural disasters too early in its young life. A series of two natural disasters long ago destroyed this thriving lost civilization of the great Atlantis.
There are numerous facts that prove Atlantis was real and thrived for a long time before being ripped at the seams by uncontrollable events. There are many people of say Atlantis is fantasy and not real because there are no facts to prove Atlantis is real but there are many facts presented that prove Atlantis was real. The evidence of Atlantis is exhibited through numerous different pieces of information that is evidence of a forward-thinking civilization that had many innovative discoveries that led them to be far more advanced than any other development at the time of this civilization. Atlantis existed was destroyed long ago by a series of earth-shattering natural disasters set into motion by an unknown force and there is evidence to support this
fact.
