Introduction
Kudler Fine Foods was established in 1998 by Kathy Kudler. Kathy is very passionate when it comes to gourmet food but was frustrated of the lack of quality products found in the neighborhood store. Kathy decided to open a store specializing in gourmet product and services. Kathy believes that providing variety of quality products and services at reasonable price will be the formula for success. Kudler Fine Foods’ vision is to be the premiere gourmet grocery store for the finest meats, produce, cheeses, and wine. Department managers are responsible for maintaining a high customer service level by carrying and maintaining merchandise in stock, while at the same time preventing excess service levels. Kudler’s policy is that adequate levels of inventory should be maintained and this customer service level is discussed on the company’s monthly operations review meeting. Kudler’s general goal has been a customer service level of 95% of items carried. This means that 95% of the time, customers will find the availability of merchandise in the store. Kutler uses historical data on items and quantities sold in the last two to three years. This data provides information to forecast which items and at what quantities to keep in …show more content…
Customer satisfaction is a priority to the company. The owner of Kudler, along with the department managers are ultimately has the responsibility for quality assurance. Kudler plan to continue to find ways to improve their level of products and services. A way towards this is to analyze the current level of the company and through the analysis, the company will establish plans for improvement. Kudler will take advantage of an acquaintance’s daughter. The daughter is a college student and will be entering her senior year at college. The senior year curriculum is on business planning and required to complete a major project. Kudler will ask the daughter if the project can be on analysis and strategic plans of Kudler stores. Kudler will pay the daughter for her efforts. This plan will be cost-effective for the company since this consultation will cost less compared to a seasoned analyst. Although the analysis will be from a college student, the result will give the company detailed analysis on planning the process improvement in relation to the company’s strategic plan. Kudler is also putting an emphasis on customer relationship by finding ways to satisfy new and existing customers. The management of Kudler is expecting its staff to actively analyze customer data to provide services and products that meet the needs of customers.
