La Tour Eiffel
La Tour Eiffel is one of the most recognizable structures in the world. It is the tallest building of Paris and is considered a global cultural icon of France. It had always been my dream to visit the world’s most-visited paid monument someday.
I didn’t have to think twice when my best friend, Katie asked me if I wanted to join her on a trip to Paris. I just packed my bags and hopped up on the plane with her. Being in Paris, visiting my dream place and that too with my best friend, it sure was overwhelming. We reached Paris late at night so we went straight to our hotel and slept. The jetlag didn’t let us do much the next two days but by the third day, when we were all fresh and ready to explore the stunning city we decided to start with the Eiffel Tower.
We took a cab to the Tower early in the morning so that we could spend the whole day there. Even though the ride wasn’t very long it still felt like never-ending. Finally, when the cab pulled over I just couldn’t believe my eyes, it seemed too good to be true. But I really was there, standing in front of the beautiful three hundred and twenty-four meters tall building
The place was filled with couples, families and tourists. People walking around, taking pictures, everyone was having a great time. We decided to take a tour of the tower. Tickets to ascend by stairs or elevators were available outside. The line for the elevators was way too long so we took the stairs.
It had three levels; the walk from the ground to the first level was over three hundred steps, as was the walk from the first to the second level. The first level featured ‘Le 58 tour Eiffel’ a restaurant. It had a splendid interior, huge window with striking view and was filled with people having the most appetizing food. The second floor had a gastronomical restaurant. The third and highest level was accessible only by an elevator. It had a souvenir store on and a few offices. We spent our day roaming around and relaxing.

Everyone who visits Versailles walks through the castle. Most people also walk around in the Versailles gardens, where the most famous fountains are. But not everyone visits the Grand Trianon and the Petit Trianon. I don't blame them, it takes a lot of walking to see all the gardens in one day. But because I was there with a group of art history students and a very enthousiastic teacher, we walked around in all the gardens.…

As I finally walked up the great hill, I caught sight of ‘the building’ and I knew at once it was the globe Theatre, it was the gorgeous narrow castle on the left. It was the most out-standing building of all of them and it had a reddish flag at the very top which meant there was a performance on that day. The building was like a sky-scraper and its colour was just so different from the dull and dark other buildings. The building had a very circular shape.…

The hotel has 15 floors, and the lobby was magnificent. There was a lounge to hang out in with two couches, a t.v., and a couple chairs. Conner went up to the check-in and got the key to the room and an information brochure to tell them about the hotel. Conner and Allison’s room was 225 on the fifth floor which they got lucky because Allison does not like heights. The room had two beds, a plasma t.v., two chairs each with desk, and one enormous…

We asked ourselves and each other. Wandering through the crowd, we realized and came to the conclusion that we had arrived at a concert. As the music delighted us for about 20 minutes, we realized we still had to go the CN Tower, so we headed toward the exit and continued our journey. The CN Tower appeared to be nearby because it was so tall, but in reality it was a long way to go for us. By the time we had arrived CN Tower it was about 6 o’clock. We had finally arrived to our destination! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to go inside because the waiting was about 2-3 hours. We didn’t want to wait that long, and since we were so tired we sat down and took a…

New York, New York! I am finally done with high school and can enjoy a relaxing vacation with my best friend. “The stories of this place are so cool!” Said Octavia. “I know! Like the one about Philippe Petit, the guy who walked across the Twin Towers on a steel cable!” I told her(Abbott 10). We arrived at our hotel room at 8:30 am, and we had a tour of the city at 9. We had to start getting ready. “Our room has a balcony!” Yelled Octavia. The view was breathtaking. Every gust of wind that hit my face made me want to live in New York forever. It was 8:40, and I hadn’t even started getting ready because I was taking in the view. “Look,” I said to Octavia. We both turned around to take a glimpse at the beautiful Twin Towers when at 8:46 a plane…

However, things went wrong as soon as I arrived in Paris. I realized that I didn’t order the overseas service on my phone; thus, it had no Internet signal, and GPS couldn’t guide me to my hotel. At the same time, I knew nothing about the public transportation system in Paris. Therefore, I thought that I would get lost. Since I was traveling alone, there was nobody to guide me or lead me. I had only to depend on myself. I panicked and I felt sick. I was so nervous that I thought I was going to vomit even though I didn’t eat much on the plane. I sat on a chair and started to think what I should do. I had to find a way…

I remember staring up the side of the building in awe that anything could be so tall. It was like a movie. Growing up in a small town in West Virginia, the tallest structures available to gawk at were trees. This was a whole new level. New York City. The city where dreams were made and destroyed. The capital of the world. From that moment on I was hooked. I loved the food, I loved the sights, I loved the people, and I loved the rush I felt as soon as I walked out the door. I was mesmerized by the Phantom on Broadway and shocked by the people performing in Times Square. This was the place for me. I knew that this was the city I wanted to spend the rest of my life in.…
