Personal Narrative: The Alamo
The Alamo
On a hot and sunny day in Los Angeles, California, there were two friends who were talking about what they were going to do on vacation. Allison and Conner were the best of friends ever since they were young, and they always hung out together. They even took many martial art classes together just in case if they faced any danger. Conner had blond hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a gray football t-shirt and khaki shorts. Allison had brown, long hair, brown eyes and always wore blue jeans with a nice shirt. They always went on vacation with each other during the Spring so that they had to time to relax and have fun. Conner said, “We should go to Texas this spring break. It would be a great adventure.” Allison exclaimed, “That sounds

The hotel has 15 floors, and the lobby was magnificent. There was a lounge to hang out in with two couches, a t.v., and a couple chairs. Conner went up to the check-in and got the key to the room and an information brochure to tell them about the hotel. Conner and Allison’s room was 225 on the fifth floor which they got lucky because Allison does not like heights. The room had two beds, a plasma t.v., two chairs each with desk, and one enormous …show more content…
The next morning, Conner and Allison woke up and got ready to go sightseeing. There was an all you can eat breakfast buffet in the dining hall, and Conner and Allison spent thirty minutes eating and talking. Conner had eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon, and an orange juice for breakfast while Allison had eggs, yogurt, sausage, and chocolate milk.
Conner asked, “Are you ready to go the Alamo today?” “Definitely! I can’t wait until I see all the historic people who died during the war and learn more about the Alamo war,” Allison said, “This will be a great experience for us.”
They headed out toward the Alamo by walking because everything in San Antonio is close to each other. Conner and Allison saw many interesting looking buildings and places to go out to eat at. San Antonio smelled wonderful, with all of the flowers, trees, and there were food stands all over the streets. After about 20 minutes, they had finally made it to the Alamo, and there weren’t many people walking around the place at the time. It was almost like the place had just been deserted that

The Mexicans celebrated throughout the afternoon hearing news that they had defeated the Texans in a battle called battle of San Patriotic march 4th backup arrived, Santa Anna recommended a assault on the Alamo. Many of his troop thought it would be best to wait for 2 12 pounder cannons to arrive on march 7th. Overall i really enjoyed the series the Alamo it was very detailed and had useful information. It actually caught my attention and was not boring at all. It was kinda like a old western which I liked a lot. Although there was one guy that survived the Alamo a Texan which none survived the Alamo . and he wanted to kill as many Mexicans as possible. He killed this little boy's whole family and later the little boy recognized him at a eating and went and found a gun and shoot him. While he was dying he said that he understood why the boy shoot him. He just went around killing innocent Mexicans , but in the end he found god and straightened up. In the beginning I wanted him to die because he was so violent to Mexicans that were not even doing anything, but at the end I wish he would have lived because he turned into a god man. wish that instead of the Texans holding Santa Anna prisoner they would have killed him Santa Anna was a…

As someone who has lived in Cumberland House, Saskatchewan and Terrace, British Columbia, this wasn't my first Pow Wow. I will say I don't remember going to any in Cumberland House as I was only two when we lived there, but I there are quite a few funny pictures of me, a chubby blond haired blue eyed baby in my pink jacket sitting among all the brown skinned, brown eyed, and black haired Native babies. I do however remember going to Pow Wows in Terrace. These two places are very different from each other, the Costal peoples having very different traditions from the Plains peoples.…

Texas history, as we learned about it in text books, has only told half of the story of Texas Independence. Every school child learns the story of the Alamo and how the brave souls paid with their lives for our freedom. What the historians failed to mention was all of the patriots who were involved, leading up to the Alamo and those who fought after. One of these patriots was Juan Sequin, who ended up paying for his patriotism with banishment, and being marked a traitor. It would be many years after his death before the full story of what this man, and others, actually achieved.…

The Alamo was a mission located in what is now known as San Antonio, Texas. Its initial purpose was to serve as a military army for the Texans, Mexicans, and Spanish. After General Cos fled Texas, they utilized the Alamo as a fortification (Pohl 5). Santa Anna stated that "all foreigners who might be caught under arms on Mexican soil should be treated as pirates and shot"("The Encyclopedia" 13). This was a push to frighten everybody from battling particularly since non-natives made up the greater part of the Texan armed force. Santa Anna assaulted the Alamo by the time in entered Texas in February. A month later, the Alamo fell following a thirteen-day attack bringing about each man in the stronghold to be either murdered or injured (Wood). There were six injured men who survived the ambush and were caught. Santa…

The end of the story was about how the Mexicans won the victory over the Texians and how they fought through the frustrating and the anger in the battle. This article was mostly about how the Mexicans won the battle and why they were rewarded the rebellion award. This conflict was important because this had to bring in how the people that lived in the area Mexico and I Texas was affected by how many people died in the Mexicans vs. the Texians. The impact of life in Texas is that now the Texians don't roam the Alamo property anymore and there’s no more trouble now, then from back then. My opinion on this article is that the Texians had to be burned in ashes because Texians did so many bad things to the Mexicans first. This is my opinion because in the article the Texians killed the first president that leaded the Mexicans. Then another reason why I said this opinion because, in the article, The Texians took over the Mexicans property and destroyed their whole army base. The last reason why I said this opinion was because in the article, The Texians leader stabbed 5 Mexican police officers for no reason and that’s why I said this reason. My evidence supports my answer because it tells why and how…

In conclusion Texans fought because they loved Texas, believed in state’s rights, and wanted to keep slavery. This must have been a very tough time in northern America and I can understand wanting to fight in this war. Their entire economy was being threatened by someone who you had thought you were allies with for years. Many Texans under these circumstances decided to fight, would…

On Saturday, I have attended a Pow Wow that was happening at the California State University of Long Beach. I knew what kind of event it was because this was my second time attending one. At the first Pow Wow, I was able to take the opportunity to volunteer for them and helped them out with the resting area for the dancers and other miscellaneous tasks. I also had the chance to walk around and explore what was provided and stayed at the event until the end. It has been over two years since I had gone to the first Pow Wow so I was excited to see once again the beauty and the uniqueness of the Native Americans and their culture.…

The Alamo, a place in religious and American history, is where American men defended Texas while surrounded inside of a Catholic Reserve Mission. Davy Crockett, Sam Houston, James Bowie, and William Travis were the important military figures among the Americans as they died courageously at the hands of Santa Anna’s army. Men, from states all over the country, came together to set a standard for America’s militia. Their efforts were avenged as Santa Anna was defeated later.
