The main objective of the lab experiment in class was to look at the men’s and women’s ability to distinguish various emotions with human facial faces on images. This experiment was performed in class. Both male and female students were asked to look at the images and distinguish different emotions.
Introduction
Distinguishing emotions of men and women presented on various images is difficult to some member of both sexes (Hoeksma et al 56.) however, there are myths that women are good in distinguishing different emotions, men have proved that they can also do it better than women. Therefore both sexes are able to clearly distinguish happiness or scared from other emotions. This lab Experiment report compares men and women ability to distinguish different emotions on images.
Methods
First of all we had to classify the different types of emotions there are to interpret them in the images the teacher showed to us, there were 10females and 14males that participated in the lab experiment in class. In total we were 24 students. We used various methods to collect the data during the experiment. Interview was primarily the method, the teacher asked everyone about the emotions on images, and we also interviewed each other to distinguish emotions. In addition, focused group discussion helped us to discuss the emotions we saw on the images. We observed students reactions during the experiments. Some students tried to imitate emotions on the images. Through observations, we were able to see several emotions like happiness, sadness, fear, disgust, surprise and anger.
Results
i. Anger
Anger total percents of correct were 97.5% the second highest emotion well seen by all students, but, men had more correct than women which this really describes that Men were smartest by classifying this type of emotion, the percent men got right was 91% and women 81% but we should consider that women
