Lady Macbeth Sleepwalking
When you sleep, a lot of things happen in your brain. Your brain becomes really active and a lot of thoughts and memories are processed by something called REM sleep. Most of the time, people don’t remember what they think of or dream of during REM sleep. People usually have hundreds or dreams or memories a night during REM sleep. It is during REM sleep that sleepwalking usually occurs. This is because the person is not conscious and he or she does not know what is going on around them and does things that they usually will not do in real life. The real term for sleepwalking is called somnambulism and is known as a parasomnia which is something weird that happens when a person is sleeping. Scientists and doctors have found out that people sleepwalk because of reactions going on in their brain. Sometimes when a person sleepwalks, they act out their dreams or reveal their subconscious. There are many reasons why a person sleepwalks and many ways how they sleepwalk depending on the person, everyone’s brain is different and sometimes they react differently when they sleep. There are a lot of types of sleepwalking that people experience. Most of the time, it’s pretty simple. People usually just get up from bed, move around and probably go to the bathroom or eat something. But there are other people who do really extreme things when they sleepwalk. There have been times where people have had sex, raped people, or even murdered people while sleepwalking and did not remember what they did after they woke up. In most people who sleep walk, the reaction in the brain is not that big and are still able to tell wrong from right even when there are sleeping, but in extreme situations some people lose complete control of their actions and do not know what they are doing. They just act on their subconscious. This can be dangerous because sometimes people think things that they would never do in real life, but when they sleepwalk, the brain can’t tell the difference.
