Lake Clarke National Park Case Study
For generations, Lake Clarke National Park has been providing outdoor opportunities for nearly 200,000 visitors each year. Recently, a September 20, 2006, email message sent to park supervisors was published on the internet. Local media outlets, including the New York Times, have made this memorandum the topic of much controversy. Due to the park’s financial situation, service level adjustments are necessary in order to maintain the standing of LCNPS. However, by no means was the park trying to intentionally mislead the public nor were we attempting to cover up the reality of this situation.
