LAKESIDE
The maps show some changes to the town of Lakeside over a ten-year periot from 2000 to 2009. It is clear that the town had changed considerably and a number of new features can be seen in the second diagram. In the northen part of Lakeside, while the residential area in the top left - hand corner of the island stayed unchanged, the one near the river bank was demolished to give way to a shopping centre. A car park which was located in the north of the town was built at the position where the derelic warehouse used to be. As well as the derelic warehouse mentioned above, the old town next to it was replaced by offices and universities. Another change in this side of the town was the conversion of the art centre into a cinema lay on the left of the school which still remained after ten years. These changes definitely turned Lakeside into a new modern town with more amenities of life. Moving on to the second map, in the southern part, Lakeside was industrialized with a bigger industrial complex which took place of the small one and the residential area situated in the south east of the town. Moreover, at the begining of the river, the lake was converted into a small pond. Overall, the maps reveal the changes and the modernization of Lakeside during ten years.
