Lamb To The Slaughter Roald Dahl Analysis
There are many things that the author Roald Dahl puts in his stories to make them scary of creepy.
In the story “The Landlady” the lady some how knew that Billy was going to stay at the bed and breakfast place. She had the room ready and everything was ready for Billy but he never told them he was coming so the lady some how knew he was going to come. In the story it said “He pressed the doorbell. Far away in a back room he heard it ring and then at once it must of been at once because he did not have time to take his finger off the doorbell-the door swung open and a woman was standing there.” This shows that somehow the lady knew he was going to ring the doorbell if she was standing there just waiting for him.

Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut can be described as a novel that is interesting, creative, and well-written. Kurt Vonnegut writes this novel with a satiric voice but also expresses many other emotions as well. The first chapter is very unique because of the way Vonnegut tells the story of how he came about writing this novel and introduces his wartime friend Bernhard O’Hare. Although it seems like it might not belong at all, this chapter gives an introduction that might be needed for a character like Billy Pilgrim. Many times you can see how important Vonnegut is in the story and how important the story is for him.…

I’m currently a senior in Upper Darby High school and recently heard that the school administration has decided to ban “Slaughterhouse-five” which is a great book in my opinion. It is a book about WWII soldier’s journey and how the prisoner of wars passed their days until end. It was even ranked 18th greatest English novel of the 20th century by Modern Library (“Banned Books Awareness: Slaughterhouse-five”). The author of the book Kurt Vonnegut was an American soldier in WWII and had faced the fire bomb of Dresden which is explained very well in this book too. He connected his experience of Dresden fire bombing into the story with the main character’s story. It is an anti-war or social commentary book where mostly it’s about what comes after…

The Landlady is consciously selective of her victims, “Seventeen she cried.
