Land of the Free, a phrase used to define America since the mid 1700s; this phrase is just as present in today’s society as it was then. Immigrants across the entire world longed for freedom and a chance at a better life. Thousands of these immigrants began to venture to America to become apart of this free land. As time has passed millions of immigrants have made their way into America, however, gaining entry into the United States has become a much more difficult process since the early years. With many immigrants desperate to join the American culture, a majority of these immigrants have come over illegally. Unauthorized immigration has turned into an epidemic across the entire United States and therefore has a major effect on the economy
