Latin American Education

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” – Nelson Mandela Education is a strong weapon that we use daily. The power of education is essential for our development skills, we need education to support our families with good jobs and a good life. Education starts at home, when mom and dad teach their son to walk and how-to day his name. No one born knowing things, people teach things, habits, experiences, etc. Education starts at home, learning how to respect and love mom and dad, and how to love God.
Kids learn how to walk, talk, and how to express themselves. Education is the base of every person, is a way of life, is to determent what do people wants to be in your life, how people wants to help the world and make difference with their career. Many good doctors and nurses study for their
careers to go help people in Africa that needs health care, this is what this quote means, but in the other hand, we have these people, the ones that study hard too, but they won’t share their fortune, billionaires that won’t donate or help the ones that need. Nelson Mandela was the first black president of South Africa and he worked to achieve human’s rights and a better future for everyone in South Africa.
Education in my career has a very strong impact, and is because I come from a poor family, and I was the first one to go to college.
In my country education is nothing like the education in The United States, El Salvador, my home country, is one of the poorest countries in Central America, people come to the U.S to get a better education to help their people back home, and is not only El Salvador, so many other countries like Guatemala, Venezuela, Mexico and many other countries from Latin America come to the US to study and be a better person and get a decent education. What motivates me to study and to continue with my career is my family, because they didn’t go to school and I don’t want to get old and work in the same job for decades and do the same for the rest of my life. Another this that makes me disappointed and sad is when I see people that doesn’t know how to communicate in English, but at the same time it makes me mad because people needs to educate themselves, no one is going to tell you “Don’t go to school you don’t need that”, yes there is so many negative people outside in the world but education is an option, a personal
option.
I remember my great-grand mother telling me that she used to see a little kid walking down the street every morning, and he was the first one to past by the house on the way to school, she said that the kid was poor and he carried his notebooks in a plastic bag to school, this is the kind of perseverance we need now days. Many of us want to be an example for those who think that education is just a paper, but no a diploma is a representation on how many fails you had and how many long nights you had doing homework and studying for your exams.
Education makes life better, people can communicate better and have a nice life, but also it makes people smarter and powerful; no one can take education away from someone, because is on your mind, is your knowledge, and it’s something that you cultivate every day in your mind and thoughts. Depends on the person how she or he wants to share their education with other people, depends on them if the one to teach somebody else their experiences in life, also it depends on them on how to help the community and make a difference on helping others to educate themselves. People can help each other and bad people is always going to exist but nobody can take education away from anyone.
