I strongly believe that the said policy was consequential for the Rome in uniting the towns of Latium. In addition, I also believe that this kind of treatment among Latium's outlying towns could obviate any revolts and insubordination among the Latin denizens to Roman's government. Moreover, in my opinion it was the Rome's intention that people in those towns will embrace to their new government in the absence of coercion and threats.
