I believe that I was categorized this way because I’m a helpful and friendly person. Two paths I’m interested in pursuing in the future is becoming a lawyer or a registered nurse. Both professions have their own advantages and disadvantages.

The criminal lawyers job is to go over evidence, defend clients in court, etc. The education requirements to be a lawyer is a bachelor’s degree and you must attend law school for three year. My Holland quiz results are Realistic 2, Investigative 8, Artistic 5, Social 11, Enterprising 10, Conventional 12. In addition to this, my Holland code is CSE and the career suggestions I received from my test results are a business assistant and Medical and Health Information specialist. I believe working as a business assistant would be a good fit for me since I am working in a similar position and I enjoy doing clerical work for my employer. Finally, working as a Medical and Health Information specialist would not be a good fit for me since I would not be good at diagnosing patients for medical…

When I was 16 years old, something struck within me. As I sat in my public safety classroom, I was absorbed by all of the content that was coming towards me. The laws, the court cases, and the case studies piqued my interest. That moment, I realized that I have found my calling. Therefore, I have decided to pursue a profession as a Paralegal, based partly on my teacher, Don Hammond. Given my determined, technological, organizational skills the law career is the correct suit for me. I look forward to begin my life and profession as a paralegal.…

In order to be a registered nurse you must obtain a license through the NCLEX-RN licensure examination. The opportunity to take this exam is to be from an accredited program, wither it be a diploma in nursing, an Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN), or a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing (BSN). The ADN program typically requires about two to three years of nursing school and focuses more on tasks and clinical skills. The BSN program is roughly four years and focuses not only on tasks and clinical skills but also focuses on knowledge, theory and research. The BSN is deemed to encompass what nursing is all…

In the human services field you are constantly working with many different individuals for various reasons. When working with others and their situations they are many laws that have to be abided by to assure that their personal information and safety is protected. One particular act that we have learned about during the last couple weeks was the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Within the act it has give protection their client’s medical records and information to stop it getting to those who have no legal right to them. A law that I have found that I believe to be very important is the CAPTA Reauthorization Act of 2010. This Act is a revised law from the original Child Abuse Protection and Treatment Act (CAPTA) that was presented to us in 2003. Every day children are being hurt and killed due to child abuse so I have decided this act would best to look more in to.…

    Holland Code Essay

The Holland Code Assessment helped me to find my key interests. My top interest was in the conventional area. Before I took the assessment, I had a strong desire to have all the areas of my life structured. I find myself to be “by the book” at times, but I do exercise flexibility when it counts. When it comes to my work as a waitress for BJ’s Restaurants, I have to multitask, which can often be challenging. What makes my job easier is when I have the tables in my station served with a game plan. Whenever I am organized at work, it really makes accomplishing tasks faster and enables me to carry out my restaurant’s reputation of great guest service. I also do bookkeeping part time for my restaurant. From a young age, I had always admired my Mom because she was a Los Angeles city employee for thirty-one years. I liked to hear about her experiences working within the different departments over the years. Even though she has passed on, I feel that she left me a part of her through my desire to work in the human resources and administrative fields. Bookkeeping makes me feel like I do office work for the corporation, and it gives me the feel that I am closer to my career field in the company.…

The career I desire in Criminal Justice is in Law Enforcement as a Police Officer. Police officers apprehend criminals, write tickets, investigate crimes and ensure that the protection of the criminal justice system is available. All law enforcement agencies require that new applicants have completed a law enforcement training academy and at least 2 years of college, although some departments require only a high school diploma and a clear criminal record but an associates or a bachelor degree is prefer. However all applicants must meet all of the written, psychological and physical standards applied by the POST exams and pass a background check and a polygraph test.…

My educational goals and plans involve criminal justice, human services, and vet science. I went to Niacc for two years to try and get my Criminal Justice degree. I took several classes for it, but fell short of money to finish what I needed to graduate. I have always been interested in T.V. shows like Criminal Minds and Law and Order: SVU, 48 Hours, and Dateline. Those shows give me the idea of what I want to do and who I want to be like. I don't know the destined occupation in that career field that I want to do. I would be okay with any job in that career field though. I have much respect for police officers and fire fighters. I always told myself I want to be like them someday. I want to be a hero to someone. I want to go the extra…

The working field I want to link my future with is becoming a lawyer. Lawyer is a complicated profession that has a lot of responsibilities- to find evidence, to defend a person using them, to argue someones rights, to give advices on the right ruling of the company. Even though lawyer is one of the hardest and most risky professions, many people choose it as their future career because of its prestige in the society and the amount of money it gives them. A lawyer is needed not only in court, he is also needed in the personnel of the company, so he would tell the owner if there is something they are doing or will do that is not aloud under the constitution of the country; another you can just call a lawyer for some legal advice, or any questions that include the law. As I said above there are two kinds of a lawyer- advocate and just an advisor. These two parts of the profession are a lot different but probably the only thing that they have in common is that they both have something to do with law.…
