Leadership
Leadership, a term that anyone can define and few show. Like the great Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Anyone can say what they feel about a situation but a leader will examine the way you feel and the way others feel about the situation and make choices based on all factors. A leader must be able to say “I do not like what is going on here” and be able to step up and take charge and fix problems. A leader cannot force people into believing the same as them, they have to be able to voice their thoughts and make them understood so that people will want to follow them. As a leader you have to sit and talk to the people you lead to see what they what they would like to change and combine it with what you would like to change because if they are not happy you will not be a leader for long. Successful leaders know that circumstances in which the people do not respect the leader create problems. A leader can also be defined as someone who is willing to help with the completion of a task that someone else is doing. The leader will guide the process and make sure the person or group of people complete the task on time and ensure the project is the best it can be. The leader must also take the responsibility to make sure people work together to get things done. When people get things one you get the changes you wanted to see in the world. Another great quote is one by Tony Blair that states, “The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say yes.” As he states it is very easy to say yes, but that would make you a follower. A leader will take the risk and say no, they would want to change the situation for the better of the people. Leaders also have to possess a positive attitude in any situation. A leader’s attitude is reflected in the people he or she leads and if the leader is negative, people will adopt the same negative attitude towards the situation. A leader should also be able to step up and

There are many definitions of leadership. The Collins English dictionary defines leadership as “the leader(s) of a party or group.” Yet true leadership is much more than that. A leader can be the chief executive officer of an organization, or a first year employee who leads his or her team to success behind the scenes. A leader might lead through official authority and power, yet just as often great leaders lead through inspiration, persuasion and personal connections. Teaching others to be a leader is a daunting task within itself (Pankaew, 2013).…

We need to know the importance of being a leader by example. If someone wants to be a real leader, that person has to show this characteristic. Bring people up in work areas, if someone's having a hard time encourage them, affect them in a positive way. I mean think Adolf Hitler had the leader traits, but he used those skills for negative doings. Do not just speak like a positive example, but also be a positive example by showing it, do the right thing when nobody's watching, when with friends do not let them trick anyone into…

A leader is someone who is brave enough to leave their comfort zone and be a guide those who need it most. Leaders serve as guidance and in many cases, role models. Everyone has the potential to be a leader; the only obstacle is a matter of will. Some people are born to lead others while others slowly become leaders over time. Regardless of the situation, a leader must have experience, knowledge, and wisdom in order properly guide others.…

Everyone has probably played the game "Follow the Leader" back in elementary school. It is a game where the leader stands in front of the line. He or she can say or do anything, and her followers (standing in a straight line behind her) must repeat exactly the same thing he or she does or says. Whoever was picked to be the leader must have loved the experience because one had the freedom to do whatever they please, while others followed miserably or happily depending on what the leader is saying or doing. However, if one was the follower, one would wait anxiously to be the next chosen leader. At the same time, one must somehow express his or her self in a fashion that will make them stand out from the rest of the students. Whether he or she is perfectly imitating the leader or behaving really respectfully of others. Nonetheless, who determines who should be the leader? What kind of characteristics must a leader possessed? What makes a great leader (Robbins, 2005)? Is there only one kind leadership? These questions will be answered as you continue to read on. In addition, you will come across case studies, real life experiences, and my own observation on how leaders in my work setting exhibit leadership behavior and how followers respond to it.…

Similarly, it is important to remember that although one might be a leader, he or she is also the member of a support system for someone else. I think this was one of my biggest lessons in leadership. It did not come from being elected or appointed to some fancy position or office. It came from realizing the amount of influence I had over my younger sister. As a sophomore and junior in high school, I was not healthy in my eating habits due to the amount of stress I felt.…
