A lot of the senior staff members feel she is too young for this role and do not believe she will be a good team leader. They doubt her before she is given the chance to prove herself. Laurel has a lot to give and a lot of potential she displays good communication skills, is respectful of others thoughts, ideas and opinions, loves and values working in a team and offers to share the work load, jobs and responsibilities with staff members. For example, introducing a communication book and making the roster more flexible. Laurel’s approach is more of ‘the motivator’ style where she places importance on both staff morale and task performance.
