Each mind brings a modified view of what leadership should or could be in a modern society. Whatever personal views arise after reviewing these masterworks there are some truths furthering the argument that leadership theory is an ever evolving door and a melting pot of ideas derived from many figures throughout history. The only constant is that there is no ideal way to lead; there are only methods that have garnered results in their own time and place in…
By definition leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization (Merriam-Webster, 2012). Therefore, anyone should be able to lead. Not so much. Leadership is an umbrella adjective that encompasses certain qualities that one needs to be an effective leader. To connect with the people you are charged with leading one must possess a certain set of characteristics and skills. This paper will discuss some of the traits that make an effective leader.…
The study of leadership has been a debated topic for centuries. The leader influences others, has followers, and leaders will come to the forefront during a crisis. “Leaders are people with a clear idea of what they want, why they want it and are able to think and act creatively in non-routine situations” (infed.org, 2012).…
Christian leaders are godly servants. This is in reference to their character. What most often distinguishes Christian from non-Christian leaders is character. Though many in the business world acknowledge the importance of character, godly character is the essential ingredient that qualifies Christians to lead others. Believing leaders know where they are going. “If you give your all, you afford yourself every opportunity possible for success”. (Maxwell, 2002) This involves the leader’s direction. Leaders need both a ministry mission and a ministry vision. The ministry mission is the church’s mission, which is the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19,20). The ministry vision is the church’s vision, which is a clear, compelling picture of what the church will look like as it accomplishes the Great Commission. All church leaders (board, staff, and lay leaders) must be moving in the same biblical direction or there will be chaos.…
Leadership is very important to people today. Society is heavily influenced by leadership. The economy is driven by business leaders. Countries are shaped by political leaders. People’s religion is determined by religious leaders. I try to lead by example everywhere I go. In the classroom, court, and after…
A leader is not a title earned for the sole purpose of bettering one’s position in society. After all, one cannot ordain themselves a leader, they must demonstrate themselves to be one to their peers and to themselves. Being a leader involves…

In this essay I will give evidence to support the fact that Moses was not fully capable of being a great leader, using solely Exodus chapter 2. Although I believe that He was not fully leader material, I must also point out that He was not completely void of all leadership capabilities. But for the purpose of this essay, I will be showing scripture that gives validity in stating that Moses was not an extraordinary leader. I will start off by showing that Moses was, to some extent, a bit impulsive. Secondly, I’ll suggest that Moses was not careful about the way he reacted or acted through a couple separate situations. And lastly, I will touch on some scripture communicating that Moses might have been a little less than competent communicator.…
A leader is someone who influences others. A biblical leader has knowledge, wisdom, and insight, along with other Godly character traits and qualities. He communes with God and abides in Jesus Christ, thus, his heart, attitude and lifestyle is a reflection of that communion. A biblical leader must clearly understand the biblical definition of leadership, God and formation and the characteristic of a leader.…
A leader is defined by Webster’s Dictionary as a “guide” or a “directing head or chief”. Throughout this study there will be many examples of Jesus’ strong leadership skills. We will see how we need to, as Christians, follow Jesus’ example of leading people with love, encouragement, forbearance, strength, understanding, motivation and a steady, guiding hand. These will be skills that you can use in the modern world today to guide people within your church, home, business or any other type of organization.…
The bible has multiple stories of stewardship. The message for stewardship is to be responsible, accountable and to look after something. Stewardship is an ethic for managing and planning responsibilities. Being a steward can be involved with you at school, home, with your freinds and around the local community. God said to Adam that he was to be the ‘steward’ and was to look after the land that he was given, this bible reference links to the common society where we are still to look after the environment.…
In reflecting on the book of Nehemiah, John White said that "the book of Nehemiah serves primarily to unfold for us part of God's on-going plan for his people. But always it is the man, his character and his leadership that holds my interest". Two important things stand out from John White's evaluative statement about Nehemiah's leadership that are characteristic of good leadership. The first is the character and conduct of Nehemiah himself as a leader and the second, is his leadership ability. White further commended that probably one of the reasons why Nehemiah was chosen as a cupbearer was because of a well-trained personal quality like that of a stable character. Such well-trained stable character was not just the effort of Nehemiah alone. This can be seen in the following statement - "God used Nehemiah's active prayer life to mold him into a godly leader". As a godly leader, Nehemiah was dependent upon God from whom he received his personal support and encouragement, which motivated him enough to succeed. Nehemiah achieved his ministry goal and his leadership has been characterized as good. His good character and conduct and his demonstration of leadership abilities were personal characteristics of his leadership, which made him succeed.…
This quality portrays irony because the major weakness of man is abusing power. Leadership and abuse of power often coincide to cause corruption among people. When leadership is given to caring individuals it can be man’s greatest strength. When intelligent leaders are given power great things will happen for everyone. Various examples of leadership are presented in the Bible. Moses, from Exodus 3, led Israel to freedom from the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh enslaved the Israelites, Moses’ people, and Moses was determined to give them freedom. With the help of God, Moses sent Ten Plagues to get his people home to liberty. By doing this, he showed true leadership and…
Leadership is the duty of the person who is in charge to take charge with courage and character while risking leading the people where they need to go. In doing this Christian leaders will need vision, opportunities, and needs. Then you will have to motivate others to get it done by providing resources, using their talents, and having them contribute their time, however we should be pragmatic of timing.…
