This assignment is about what a leader is. A leader is a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. A leader is someone who has courage and will stand up for what they believe in. That is the information that I will be looking up. Leader go way back to ancient times so leaders meant a lot back then and mean a lot now in this day and age. People need good leaders for if we didn’t we’d be in an anarchy and we wouldn’t want that. This is why we need good leaders to guides us and we also need to trust them to make good decisions for us. Without a leader we might as well be a world and or place like the purge this is how much we all need a leader. Way back in history Jesus was a leader and still is a leader people followed him …show more content…

A good leader to me is someone who takes a stand for what they do and they’re not afraid to die for what they represent. Now more often then not Martin Luther King is mentioned when people think of good leader, and it’s true when you think of a good leader Martin Luther King comes to everyone’s mind well unless you’re racist. Though when I think of a good leader only a couple people come to mind and through those people on person I think takes the cake for good leader. Sheryl Underwood!! I have never been so serious Sheryl Underwood is a great leader you know why because she stands to what she believes in. I am not even the same team like she’s a republican and I’m a Democrat but it’s like I would still follow her, but we’re talking about historic leaders so I would have to pick other Martin Luther King and or Abraham Lincoln. I know for a fact from watching Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter that his leadership style was Participative because he would always ask for his friends help with certain things. Now I’m not specifically sure about Martin but I’m pretty sure he was also a participative leader as well because I’m sure he got help from his fellow friends and at the same time had a finally say in what was going to be said. Though I also think he could have been an Authoritarian because I don’t think he had help in his “I have a dream speech” So in my opinion he could have been either

According to Plato, leadership is not just a power or decision-making authority; it is the system and process developed to establish the culture and how things are done in an organization or government. The nature of leadership should be driven by what is right and what is just. Plato believed that a monarch who served the best interest of the citizens was preferred to direct democracies that act to serve their own personal interest. According to Plato, leaders should serve the good of the people and not the good of the rulers or themselves. Taking ENES 317 has exposed me to lot of knowledge such as one leadership/Management skills, personality types, approaches to problems and decision making. In the past, I believed that leadership was a quality that could be learned and taught, but I also thought that leadership would best fit people with some personal trait such as charisma or personality of an extrovert people. With the knowledge gained from this leadership course, I came up with an individual Bill Gates who is successful in leading but an introvert, and he has successfully managed to influence others, who virtually revitalize our personal computers/phones and way of shopping. However, some of the things I knew about leadership before taking ENES317 was that a good leader should be open to new ideas, forgiving to his/her followers, and demonstrate humility. I still believe that without these qualities a leader can only become arrogant in their leadership that their behavior may isolate them from their followers. My focuses on this paper will be to analyze the self-assessments test taken in class and the leadership theories presented in class.…

"I don't know what awaits us on the other side of that berm, but I'll tell you this. If I have to give my life for any of you I will do it in a heartbeat" (Murphy, 2008). An insert from the book In a Time of War told from a lieutenant in the U.S. Army moments before he leads his platoon into the invasion of Iraq. A position of leadership comes with many responsibilities other than just delegating work to people under you. One must have ethical values to be a fair and impartial leader for all that whom serve. This all ties into a person's philosophy of leadership. The leaders, all of whom will be independent in their own right but share common ground, can tell a view of their leadership. My view of leadership…
