Leadership Philosophy Assignment

This assignment is about what a leader is. A leader is a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. A leader is someone who has courage and will stand up for what they believe in. That is the information that I will be looking up. Leader go way back to ancient times so leaders meant a lot back then and mean a lot now in this day and age. People need good leaders for if we didn’t we’d be in an anarchy and we wouldn’t want that. This is why we need good leaders to guides us and we also need to trust them to make good decisions for us. Without a leader we might as well be a world and or place like the purge this is how much we all need a leader. Way back in history Jesus was a leader and still is a leader people followed him
because to them he was the leader like no other, and this is what I’ll be researching.

Leadership styles
There are many different types of leadership styles but the three I wants to pick are:
Authoritarian- A leader tells their employee what to do and how to it, with no advice given from them.
Participative- When the leader includes their employees into a decision but the final say is the leader.
Delegative- When the leader allows the employees to make the decisions but the leader is still responsible for the decisions that are made.

Leaders who used these styles of leadership are:
JFK used Authoritarian leadership.
Steve Jobs used Participative leadership.
I believe Kurt Lewin used Delegative.
Historic Leaders
I believe a good leader is someone with courage and bravery.
A good leader to me is someone who takes a stand for what they do and they’re not afraid to die for what they represent. Now more often then not Martin Luther King is mentioned when people think of good leader, and it’s true when you think of a good leader Martin Luther King comes to everyone’s mind well unless you’re racist. Though when I think of a good leader only a couple people come to mind and through those people on person I think takes the cake for good leader. Sheryl Underwood!! I have never been so serious Sheryl Underwood is a great leader you know why because she stands to what she believes in. I am not even the same team like she’s a republican and I’m a Democrat but it’s like I would still follow her, but we’re talking about historic leaders so I would have to pick other Martin Luther King and or Abraham Lincoln. I know for a fact from watching Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter that his leadership style was Participative because he would always ask for his friends help with certain things. Now I’m not specifically sure about Martin but I’m pretty sure he was also a participative leader as well because I’m sure he got help from his fellow friends and at the same time had a finally say in what was going to be said. Though I also think he could have been an Authoritarian because I don’t think he had help in his “I have a dream speech” So in my opinion he could have been either

Successful Business Leaders
Now one of my favorite successful business leader is Oprah Winfrey. What Oprah do to have a successful business is OWN it, get it because her network is the own network, No okay then I thought it was pretty funny. Anyway Oprah actually keeps her business successful by doing things she knows people would want to see. Oprah is successful like many business leaders because she worked hard from the moment she started she’s been working hard to stay at the top.

Conclusion
Now through this whole research paper I see what it means to be a leader in a different way. What a leader means to me is someone who won’t be a little pussywillow and someone who would no matter what lead the way us as a State or even a unit is supposed to be lead. I will not follow a meek leader I’m just not going to do it so a leader has to have a pair for me and a lot of people to follow them. So this is what a leader means to me these are my expectations of a leader in my opinion.
