What are classroom accommodations or modifications that might assist Steve in improving tasks completion and in working with peers? Classroom modification for Steve is to be paired up with a peer(s) whom share similar interests as Steve. This will allow Steve to feel comfortable with the peer(s) he works with. If Steve is appropriate in a group work, he and his peer(s) can be rewarded. Mrs. Andrews can modify her instruction to Steve by using advance organizers, chunk the lesson, and use learning aids such as a computer. Another example of a classroom accommodation is to allow Steve to have more time on tests/quizzes, and have his test read, or her an auditory tape/CD. Mrs. Andrews can use positive feedback on the Steve’s work.
