Learning a Foreign Language in Primary School
Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary.
Does the advantages of this outweigh the disadventages? Reason relevant examples 250 words Some experts suggest that it is better for children to learn a foreign language at primary school than secondary school. This argument is true to some extent. The researches and experiment about the difference between the way in which adult and children learn a foreign language have already showed that it is easier for a child to accept a new form of language when compared with adults in the same period. Clearly children’ learning ability and learning efficiency are stronger. If a child can learn a new language at primary school, the foundation built in his early age will be helpful when he decide to have a further study on that language later. On the other hand, some parents still doubt these arguments. Their main concern is that is it necessary to let children choose a foreign language that early? The study of a foreign language means cutting the children’s spare time. They worries that the happiness in the childish may be robbed by the heavy burden.of the extra language program. If a grasp of foreign language is beneficial to children’ future, then how to deal with other options like computer, music, math and so on? how to decide the children’ after-class study will be a hard choice. As for me, I would prefer studying a foreign language at an early age, because cultivating an extra interest will not only lay the base of advanced learning in future but also promote the intellectual development. Even if the child does not get interested in the language, he will at least experience a different way of thinking which is essential in his whole life.

Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmers.(for example, working for a charity, Improving neighborhood or teaching sports to younger children). To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some people think that high school programmes should include unpaid community service. I think this suggestion is helpful to build teenagers’ responsibility to their communities. High schools are used to teaching in a traditional way which includes text book reading, the explanation of moral concepts for decades. Students are trained to be good at answering typical questions but lack positive willing to transfer their attitude into practice. In other words, they isolate the knowledge they acquired apart from the reality. As a result, there is no surprise why many top students are involved in bullying affairs. As a compulsory and easy way, unpaid community service will cultivate students’ sense of belonging to the community and strengthen the emotional ties between individual and the whole society. Many may doubt that whether or not this arrangement of extra-curricular activity will truly achieve its goal as we expected. They believe this new reform can be just one more homework for the students. They will finish this task like other subjects’. They insist that the improvement of moral character is not like of physical skills which can be lifted by several hours’ exercise. They also think that compulsory service’s influence isles effective when compared with violent and vulgar TV series. But I still support the compulsory service for it is a more realistic way to solve the fact that youngsters nowadays do not care much about the social regulations and moral traditions.

    Language is a critical component of every student and the importance of learning a language is an integral part of the learning process. Not only is it important to learn how to read, but it is equally as important to be able to learn how to write. Students are without a doubt at a great advantage if they are able to communicate and read and write in multiple languages. As for myself, I was exposed to the English language at home. My parents would do every effort to teach me to learn how to first of all learn how to read in English. My parents have always emphasized the importance of reading. I too believe that if a student does not learn how to read at an early age, he or she will struggle for the rest of their lives. When I began Elementary school, my parents placed a very strong emphasized on ensuring that I learn how to read.
