Leonard Pitts: Enjoying Life
I agree with Leonard Pitts, I say in order to fully enjoy life we have to experience some good and bad moments in our lives. Although, l would never be shocked about anything if my was the same everyday would be very mundane. For instance, if I wore black clothes everyday and had sad thoughts this routine could lead to other issues, such as depression, suicide, or harming others. today we have choices to take life seriously or jokingly. I today take my life serious I want more for myself than ever before. Therefore, a quote from George W. Bush,( Grief, tragedy, and hatred are only for a time. Goodness, remembrance, and love have no end).

Leonard Pitts criticizes McBudget’s argument by making emphasis on the missing points that were not included on the budget. He considers McDonald’s budget as offensive and controversial. Also, Mr. Leonard believes that it is impossible for a millionaire company advice the poor people to continue surviving to poverty. In his opinion, the poor people cannot live on the totally unrealistic McBudget. According to McBudget the value for health insurance that nowadays everybody must have is 20 dollars only per month. The value of car and house insurance together is 100 dollars per month and expenses like gasoline and food are not included. This is more than unrealistic. It’s unseemly. Pitts recommends McDonald’s CEO to live on minimum wage for six months and prove that his budget can be done. I think it is a great idea.…

In “This is the Life” by Annie Dillard, Dillard uses a dominant magnanimous tone and she switches between a mocking tone and a provocative tone to express that humans nowadays take their lives for granted and they do not realize that not everyone in the world has such an easy life. Dillard does a tremendous job on describing the lives of humans in the past and the present, mapping out scenarios describing the “easy life” during a certain time period. As well as trying to get the reader to appreciate what they have in life, she also reminds us of how we need to challenge our worldview.…

Why do people have horrible moments in their lifetime? Woody Allen said,” Life is divided into the horrible and the miserable”. This quote makes a connection to the book that we read, in the book there is a guy that is not being treated equally, his friends are trying to help him. I suddenly realized that no one could ever find out. Rushing to my car I flung the door open and got inside. Racing home I felt the nerves stream through my body. Inside the house I gradually walked to my bedroom and stepped inside. Creeping over to the loose floorboard I felt the sweat drip from my palm. Kneeling down I moved the old board aside and picked up the substantial object. The leather brown sides felt rough as I gently ran my fingers over it. Gathering my thoughts I brought myself to open the ominous object. The bold black letters appeared to be more frightening than I thought. Jaxson Eugene Brown emerged from the thick yellow page and sent a shiver down my back. As I continued to read the frightening book the last sentence almost stopped me in my tracks. May 1st, 2016 Jaxson Eugene Brown will be pronounced dead.…

For me Dan Lewis's view of "life being a smorgasbord" does apply. Life's is like a food buffet with many experiences, some you may like and some you may not but that's okay because you will try them all anyway. When you look at your life you should think of where you are now, where your going and your accomplishments. An example of my life beiong a smorgasbord is when my 7-year-old twin brothers were born. They had been through multiple heart surgeries, many months in Dayton Childrens and still to this day are fully functioning. They were born with chagre syndrom. You go to bed on eday thinking everything is okay, your life is on track and it'll all be thge same tommorrow, the next day and the day after that, but then you wake up and youre…

Everyone has peaceful and strange events that occurred in their lifetime. There are several chances that one expects something pleasant to happen and it comes true. On the other side, an occasion doesn’t appear when somebody expects it. I can explain this with my personal account of Hurricane Sandy, an event that occurred on October 29, 2012 and ended on November 2, 2012. This affected the northeast portion of the United States. As a result of this event, I had lost power, had a tough time doing tasks, and took my education away. On the other hand, I was thankful that the disaster ended a few days later.…

My experience and adventures called life in its whole translation is not just constructed upon happiness. To experience life and all that it has to offer, one needs to also experience sadness and every emotion that develops. Though I know most individuals seek happiness in life, one needs to have the awareness and understanding that life is "good" even when happiness does not enter the picture. For an individual to constantly be "happy" in life, they miss the despair of seeing the harshness of reality that this life does offer. Seeing a child in a third world country hopping on one leg and fighting a group of children for a handful of fish because he has not ate in two days does not bring happiness to me. (That example was from a documentary called "Darwin's Nightmare".)…

We spend so much time worrying and taking things so seriously that we turn everyday situations into problems. Things like going to the grocery store can turn into a big hassle that causes you way too much stress. “If I leave now I could probably beat traffic. But then I’d be stuck on the way home and who even knows how packed the store is. I should’ve went this morning then it would be done, but now I have to go right now when it’s most packed”. How about you just chill out! Wait in a line it’s not a big deal. Sing a song in your head while waiting, bring someone with you. I can’t tell you how many good memories I have at the grocery store just from me and my mom goofing around in there. It’s okay to have fun.…

    Laugh and Be Merry

The poem 'Laugh and be merry' by John Masefield probes the premise of living life to the full. The poet advises that we should have a constructive outlook in life. Life is brief and it is not to be frittered away in sorrow and despair. He advocates us to get pleasure from our lives in this world, since the universe itself is a manifestation of the joyousness of God. Each instant of our life should be savoured and rejoiced. God created the moon and the stars for the happiness of human being. So we should be enlivened by God's purposeful creation. The poet compares the world with an inn where all human beings are temporary guests. We should enjoy life till it comes to an end and till the music of life ends. Laugh and be merry for the world is a much better place with a happy song and to live in a world that is ready to blow in the teeth of wrong. We should be always conscious of the injustice and wrong doings of the world and strive to remedy them so that the world will remain a happy place to live in for all. We must not just rejoice but also be dynamic in tackling evil. Laugh and give no leave to sorrow or to worries for the life is short, a thread a length of span. Laugh from the depth of your heart and with optimism and be proud to belong to the everlasting and spectacular procession of the human race; a pageant with an impressive display in celebration of life.…
