NASA not happy about the letter to aliens on Proxima b; will the space agency make contact too?
Sending unsolicited space mail to aliens on a distant planet similar to ours may be frowned upon at NASA. However, one scientist did just that. He
sent a friendly “howdy” to Proxima b, and the “open letter” is indeed entertaining. Immediately asking about their planet’s rapid year of 11 days, and how the holidays are always just around the corner. He also asks the alien folk about sun tanning and its constant orange glow. Do the alien leaders on the distant planet like humor?
Scientist asks Proxima b aliens for advice about how to run the universe; NASA is jealous
The aliens on Proxima b are thought to be living underground due to the high level of X-rays on the planet. This is due to its closeness to their dwarf star. Kind of like our sun. Researchers and NASA officials alike have yet to see the planet, but theories are flying. The reason scientists do believe life exists on the planet is because of its location. The official term for the planet's area is the “Goldilocks Zone.” Despite the humor displayed in the letter, officials are jealous that the letter's author asked alien leaders for advice.
Poetry, chocolate, politics, and Kanye are all up for discussion with aliens on Proxima b
The amusing letter also opens the discussion for the simpler things in life. The letter asks aliens if they have chocolate and poetry on Proxima b. He also addresses the topic of politics and celebrities with big egos like Kanye. The letter also asks alien leaders if they got Jimmy Carter’s messages. NASA is unsure what to do. And more discussion could result in an alien invasion, since the letter gives up our secret weaknesses.
