1. Design a Concept Map to illustrate your understanding of the relationship between the learning theories and technology integration. Your map MUST include:
i. At least 5 theories ii. The role of the teacher iii. The role of the students
Technology integration is the use of technology by both teacher and student to boost the teaching and learning experiences. Over the years psychologists have done research on ways in which the learners acquire knowledge. They have come up with several theories as to how people learn. Five of these theories are namely:
Constructionism Theory
Vygotsky’s Constructivism Theory
Engagement Theory
Situation Cognition
Multiple Intelligence
Below is a concept map which illustrates the relationship between technology integration and the learning theories.
2. Using the ASSURE or ADDIE Model develop a lesson Blue Print (Concept Map, Flow Chart, or Storyboard) to demonstrate the integration of technology in your subject area. The Blue Print should demonstrate the integration of the following tools:
i. PowerPoint ii. Video (editing should be demonstrated) iii. A Podcast
The ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop Implement and Evaluate) is the most widely used instructional design technique. The individual steps are to: Assess and analyze needs, Design instructions and presentations, Develop materials and Implement activities and Evaluate participants’ progress and instructional materials effectiveness. The ADDIE model is preferred by most learning institutions as a means of the delivery of the curriculum being taught. Below is a lesson plan blue print in the form of a flow chart which incorporates the ADDIE instructional Design Techniques.
