Once we can choose to be aware of deceit, we can then acknowledge the corruptions and lies, to improve our society. Great examples to recognize deceit are found in literature or unbiased news. A great novel, 1984, by George Orwell, depicts how social deceit amongst society can affect itself and the safety of its citizens. Similar to a dictator, 1984 casts an ominous and corrupt symbol of power as an undying ruler known as “Big Brother,” portrayed as a God amongst the society with posters strung about reminding, “Big Brother is Watching You.” to manipulate, control, and deceive its citizens. Although fictional, George Orwell still acknowledges the negative impact of deceit
