The life course perspective in criminology focuses on patterns of life events and the ways they influence human behavior (Elder, Glen H., Jr. 1995. The life course paradigm: Social change and individual development. In Examining lives in context: Perspectives on the ecology of human development 101–139. APA Science Volumes. Washington, DC: APA Press). Developmental and life-course theories focus on the changes in offending and problem behaviors over time. While these two theories are similar, there is a notable difference in their approach.     The University of Texas at Austin is one of the most prestigious schools in the United States, it is among one of the highest in graduation rates, campus size and amount of students that attend there. Then we will cover the area of the organizational structure, crime statistics and other pertinent features from those agencies. And finally we shall enter the communication and see if the two agencies work together side by side in the city of Austin. The methods that we are going to be using in this research from the two agencies will be from the department’s websites that have their information in the website from those agencies.     Jessie Misskelley’s signed a Miranda waiver on tape before he was interrogated by Detective Ridge. His confession is not admissible under Iowa law on “Miranda” voluntariness, but I do not believe that the evidence supports his confession. In the case of State of IOwa, Appellee v. Jimmie Lee HODGES page 347, Hodges confessed to the crime that he was accused of after the police officer “suggested that by confessing the defendant would receive better treatment and less severe punishment than if he denied guilt and stood trial.” An officer can tell a suspect that it is better to the truth, but in this case the line seemed to be crossed if the officer also tells the suspect what advantage is to be gained or is likely from making a confession.
