In my honest opinion even though he was very young child Guido should have made sure that his child knew this was not a joke nor a game that this horrific execution of Jews was very serious. Guido should have talked with honesty so the child would know later in the future that what he went through is not a game but it is a truly horrendous time in history where the extermination of 6 million Jews caused many survivors to view the world in a different ways and would change their lives in such a tremendous way. I believe children should not have to experience the killings of millions of others but it would not be fair or respectful to the the people who have perished to tell one;s child that their death and torture was game, no matter how much you love your child they need to know the truth so when grown they could comprehend that all those lives were not his competitors, that they were innocent lives. In the film Guido does the impossible to protect his son, helping him hide losing his life, he offended many others because how could he die for a game while others died for simple unexplained and cruel things like asking or even talking to an officer, but he died all for a game that his child will later will regret because he will understand that it was something no one should make a joke out of. If he would have been honest with his son there would be a lot less issues he passes through and even could have not lost his live along with the other 6 million

The three terms/concepts are: casting, ensemble acting, and method acting. The cast of American Beauty won a Screen Actors Guild Award for an Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture in the year 2000, the ensemble acting includes the acting techniques of working together in the film shots, and the casting of the group of actors for the characters’ roles includes: Annette Bening, Wes Bentley, Thora Birch, Chris Cooper, Peter Gallagher, Allison Janney, Kevin Spacey, and Mena Suvari. In fact, some of the actors cast in the roles are not method actors per se, and their acting articulates some of the Stanislavski's System techniques which include the establishment of their own creative personal methods.…

Through the midst of torture and suffering during the Holocaust, hope can be found through love and family. Two examples of this would be a memoir, Night, by Elie Wiesel and a movie, Life is Beautiful directed by Roberto Benigni. While some similarities are noticeable, the differences are astonishing and striking, which gives the audience various experiences.…

“My hand shifted on my father’s arm. I had one thought- not to lose him” (Wiesel 27). Young boys look up to their fathers for protection and guidance, such as Elie does in Night. These boys love their dads and would be extremely devastated to lose them. In the novel Night, by Elie Wiesel, Elie the main character is a young Jewish boy who is put into a concentration camp with his family. Elie and his father are the only ones in his family who survive and journey on to many other camps. Elie expresses his need and love for his father as the book goes on, leading up to his father’s death and his releasement from the camps. This love between father and son is also expressed in the movie Life is Beautiful (LIB), by Roberto Benigni. In (LIB) the main character Guido is transported to a concentration camp with his son and wife. In order to protect his son from the harsh reality of the camp, Guido explains to him that the concentration camp is simply a game devised to win a new tank. Guido continues to act as if he was playing the game, resulting in his execution by a guard one day for misbehaving. Both Wiesel and Benigni focus on the hardships that took tolls on families during the Holocaust. Wiesel and Benigni use detailed settings and characters to show that family will always be supportive even in the most dehumanizing and sullen places.…

There were numerous differences between the two stories. First of all, Life is Beautiful had a much lighter and amusing tone to the story. The father attempted to turn the deportation into a game with a system of points. Then, when all of the kids were gassed in the gas chambers, Guido put a twist on the “game” by shifting it into a hide-and-seek type of game. The less the guards saw Joshua, Guido’s son, the more points they gained. Throughout Guido’s attempt to conceal the truth of the absolute horror of the concentration camps from his son, the task proves to be rather difficult and causes Guido to go through a number of humorous actions to make sure his son doesn’t discover the reality. However, in Night, Elie knew right off the bat that nothing was sugar-coated or fun about concentration camps. Of course, the fact that he spoke German and therefore understood the guards also contributed to the fact that he could not have possibly been protected from the truth. Then, the officers also tried to make the concentration camps sound better than they actually were by saying labor camps were located on site. However, all of the lies were revealed as untrue once the families stepped off the trains. The tone was never humorous or even slightly relaxed in Night as it was in Life is Beautiful.…

I will be writing about 50 First Dates starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This movie is about a girl who gets into an accident that results in brain damage. Then she experiences a form of amnesia called “Goldfield’s Syndrome” according to the movie. Basically, Goldfields syndrome doesn’t allow Drew to form new memories, but doesn’t erase what she knew before the accident. She can remember up to one day, then she relives the next day as if it was the first day after the accident, over and over again. The movie has its strengths and weaknesses in accurately portraying the memory. For the most part, I believe the movie did a good job portraying it.…

The film is based on the memoirs of Wladyslaw Szpilman, this is a true story of what this man went through during Hitler’s reign. I feel like the plot of this film immediately sets it up to convey the information in a factual but emotive way, although because it is a memoir it also leaves it open to withhold a lot of information that might not be know and because they didn’t want to make parts of the story up they left the audience with quite a few unanswered questions.…

The movie Ride Along is a 2014 American action best comedy film. Ride Along" isn't much of a movie, but the quality that makes it mostly watchable, and occasionally enjoyable, is the fact that it seems to know that it isn't much of a movie, and doesn't push against that fact too much. Tim Story is the directed of this awesome movies. Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, are the two main starred that I really loving watching there acting in this movie. It’s amazing how different the country was back then. It is a very moving film and it’s difficult not to be moved emotionally by the tragedy and senselessness of it all. It is just as vivid to the all the friends and relatives of the four little girls, as if it happened yesterday. As I stated, the film is very intense and moving because the memories of the people involved are still quite vivid. One scene that stood out to me was when one of the mothers’ stated that she doesn't harbor any hate. She used to but has kind of resigned herself to the fact that that it wouldn’t do any good at this point. Nevertheless, she admits that it’s something that she has to work on daily through her belief in God. Of course, it makes us wonder if we would be able to somehow handle it as well as she has.…

The film American Beauty was a complex story of a “traditional American family” as seen by the media. The intriguing part of the film was that it showed what happens behind the doors of a “typical American family” or a family that put on a persona of a typical family. The Family Crucible written family psychiatrist Augustus Y. Napier, PhD, with Carl Whitaker, M.D. it tells a story of an American family who initially seeks counseling because of the abnormal and rebellious behavior of their adolescent daughter. The family in the book seeks family therapy only after individual therapy for the adolescent daughter seemed to fail in solving the behavioral issues the family was dealing with from the adolescent daughter. Many aspects of family dynamics were drawn to the surface both in the film about the Burnham family and the book about the Brice family. The three family dynamics or principles that were common and most pertinent to both families were triangulation, scapegoating, and lack of communication due to stress. Both the film, American Beauty and the book, The Family Crucible will demonstrate all three of these principles multiple times throughout their unique stories.…
