Life Vision Paper
How My Characteristics Will Affect My Future Who am I? For starters my name is Dan. Like everyone else in the world I have many positive and negative characteristics. Three positive characteristics that describe me best would be humorous, caring, and outgoing. Everyone can pinpoint positive characteristics about themselves, but it’s the negative ones that are a little harder. Three negative characteristics that I have are stubbornness, procrastination, and disorganization. I am currently working on changing these negative characteristics and they are something that I need to work on to be successful in my future job. Humor; it is a popular characteristic that people use to describe themselves. However, I truly believe that I humor people. Not only do my friends tell me I always know how to put a smile on their face, but throughout my family I’m known as the jokester. For example, I used to perform little stand-up comedy performances for my family during holidays. More specifically after Thanksgiving dinner while everyone was filled with food, I’d go into the living room a try to make my family laugh so hard that they’d burst. Also, in the fifth and sixth grade talent show, me and a couple friends did a comedy skit and were very successful. In sixth grade, I was a chef and there was a bunch of ingredients out on the table in front of me. I was blindfolded and my hands were behind my back, so my friend was my hands for the skit. I would call out ingredients for the recipe and my friend who could barely see would put the ingredients in the bowl. As you might have guessed things got a little messy and the crowd loved it. We were voted the best act of the night and received gift cards to Barnes & Nobel (I was disappointed because I’m not the biggest reader). Another characteristic that people tell me I possess is that of outgoingness. Outgoing; being comfortable in social settings and interactions, and confident in

I am very outgoing and sometimes consider myself to be very talkative, even when people tell me to be quiet I cannot help it. That is just the type of person I am. I like to be heard even if I am the only person listening to myself my brain is always running and developing new thoughts and ideas to discuss with other people. Whenever I am with my friends they are constantly telling me to be quiet because I never stop talking I just do not like it to be quiet. I feel that I am the life of the party I also do this at work with my co-workers I just like to talk I feel I have a mouth to express myself and be heard. Openness to experience I feel is another that describes me well because along with always thinking and talking I an very curious to know a little about everything. I feel that I can learn about different things forever, and that I can always learn how to do something I already know a different more efficient way. Curiosity never hurt anyone I believe the world is full of many mysteries and we must unlock and discover them to learn what they are. I also find myself building thing without the instructions not because I do not need them, but because I am curious to see if I can create what I am building without them. Even if I do not know something on a subject I will sometimes act as if I do because I want to see how gullible people are, and I also know many facts about everything so it is easy to believe me. Using agreeableness I would consider myself to be ruthless and soft-hearted why, because I tend to be easygoing and am kind to people I know, but if I do not know you I am not going to be nice to you. Do not get me wrong though even with people I know I can turn on if they give me a good cause to snap on them. People who hitch for rides I…

Now I’m going to talk about my positive traits. I like helping people, if there is something I can do, I will do it. I believe that when you do something good for other people you get two things 1, the satisfaction of helping and two, God will reward you for the good action. According to my family I’m a joyful person I’m always smiling and making people laugh. Like I said in the beginning, I don’t like showing people my weaknesses and that includes when I’m sad or depress. I prefer keeping it all to myself and act like everything is okay. I put others first than me, I think that is something good because it doesn’t make me a selfish person. Another positive trait that I will always be thankful to my parents is showing me good manners and to…

Picking someone for this paper was much more difficult than the first one, at immediate thought the only people I knew over the age of 65 were my family members. I started to look into some of my friends’ parents but they were not quite there. Then it hit me, the perfect person to interview would be my friend that passed away in Dickinson, her grandmother. She is one of the most loving, caring, supportive grandparents I have ever met. I have always seen her from that stand point so interviewing her would only help me to understand how she became the way she is today.…

I’m a very quick learner. If I struggle with getting a technique down the first few times, I quickly adapt to find a way to make it work for me (I do this quite often in my guitar class). I’m a very passionate person when I believe in something strongly enough, I will defend my opinion and try to get others to see the situation in the same light that I do. I’m also a very creative and artistic person; I love art, drawing, and music. I may not necessarily be the best at drawing, singing or playing my guitar, but I love to do it anyway because it makes me happy, especially when I can hear/see my improvement.…

Everyone has something about them that makes them unique, whether it’s not wanting to step on the cracks while walking because you’re scared you may break your mothers back or not eating green things because well their gross; we all do things others might consider weird. Mine is giggling! Being the younger of two older brothers I never really got to say much, so I would sit in the stroller and just watch and giggle because they would always do silly things. As my brothers got on rides I wasn’t tall enough to get on at Disney I would wait crying because I felt excluded but after they got off the ride and walked up to me the tears stopped and the giggle started. Everyone knew my giggle growing up, my mom used to say she could…
