Life's Journey
A Life Altering Event At some point in life, people usually experience one special event that contributes to their personality and what they become today or in the future. Playing soccer for the first time is one event that had a huge impact in my life. Soccer gave me a new identity in school, It changed my lifestyle. Last but not least, Soccer changed my opinion about sports. Soccer came into my life at a very young age (5). On my first ever recess day in school; I was looking for something to do outside. I saw these kids kicking a ball and running around in the field. From my first glance, I instantly fell in love with the game. I quickly joined those kids and played soccer for the first time. From then on, I started playing soccer every day and never looked back. I just loved playing soccer and still play soccer after five years. This is how I experienced my special event that changed who I was before. Playing soccer changed me in many ways. Firstly, soccer gave me new characteristics and a new lifestyle. I became more active, strong, and emotional. In school, I would play soccer every day and always showed my emotions whenever I disagreed with my peers and teammates. I’m more social and vocal in school because soccer made me more of an upbeat and an exciting person. I was also not scared of joining sporting events or any other physical activities in school because soccer erased all my fears. Another way playing soccer affected my life is how it gave me a new identity in school. In school I went from a boring, anti-social kid to a strong, athletic, cool person. People would admire my soccer talents, and also how much I care about the sport. By playing soccer I gained respect from my friends and teachers. Before people barely knew me, but know everyone knows of me and that is the best thing I could've experienced.
