There is an opportunity to help teach the classes on the unit that I work for as I strengthen my skills to share my knowledge. I have already participated in teaching a class to the nurse aides about delirium and ways to prevent delirium to occurring in the elderly hospital patient. I was able to share in the responsibility in teaching using a slide presentation that we had designed.
Critical Thinking
Teaching critical thinking to students is an essential tool to give the students a solid foundation when they are entering the workplace. Nurse educators are called upon to teach the student the fundamentals of nursing. One fundamental that is hard to teach to students is critical thinking. Critical thinking is the objective and analysis of an issue to form judgement. The following review of the literature is designed help see the need for students to learn to think critically.
