There is a scar on America's heart: the September 11 attacks. This invisible wound has not only taken a great tool on the whole continent, but also had an immediate impact on many innocents in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syrian, and wrapped the people's values fundamentally. In light of this, I visit the UoPeople library and find a source for the non-fiction story I read in unit 5 which has to do with the 9/11 subject matter. Next, I will introduce it a bit, and analyse the narrative 'Fear & Loathing in America', along with the source, then demonstrate synthesis at last.

For instance, it defines the Enlightenment as "a commitment to free inquiry and free speech..."(Hind, 2007, p.49), and shows there is a certain mood of provoking unfriendly reactions against Muslim in America. In contrast, the author of 'Fear & Loathing in America' made a few discreet predictions that the spiral of anti-terrorist battles would become never-ending for the United States. and Iraq, Afghanistan, and many more. In addition, I agree with the views that two authors expressed in their work, they prophesied that an unpromising ending for the armed struggle. Meanwhile, I have great empathy with them, for one, inevitably those who suffer the most are innocent civilians. Last but not least, I feel the process of looking back on the 9/11 tragedy from a distance of fifteen years is something meaningful, because it sparks a new self-examination of America's tough approach toward other countries, further, it makes me think what is the role of the U.S., such a global powerhouse in economic, politic, military, and how an individual can help to build a better world from now
