Lobster's Telomere
Did you know that the lobster's life cycle with high levels of the telomere is beneficial to them? First, even though lobsters can live as long as 70 years old about 15% dies in molding. Secondly, between 5,000-100,000 eggs produced about 50% of the eggs will be a meal to marine life. Thirdly, the population is controlled by predators (including humans). I believe that it would not be worth the investment to increase our telomere just to slow down our aging process. The following reasonings to why: What are the effect of increasing the human's telomere? Would the increase of telomere increase the chances of cancer or other illness? Would this increase our population drastically? If so do we run out of resources faster and repeat the great depression
