thorough enough. A swift two minute search could mean the difference between an angry student and a total disaster. With the emergence of the latest inconspicuous drugs and weapons,it is deemed difficult to separate the blameworthy ones from the innocents. It can still be accomplished by coordination between the staff and the student body. Searching and seizing student’s possessions can also greatly reduce gang violence. Most gangs establish their presence of threat through flashing their weapon to the victim. This can be stopped in its roots by taking away their source of intimidation, controlling the impact that gangs have on other students. Random searches also tend to lessen the frequency of drug deals,[in fear of getting searched]. Random locker inspections are the easiest and most effective way of uncovering contraband and quartering till it gets to the proper authorities.
However, administrators should not misuse this right and search students who have no rational reason to be involved in any illegal activities. These searches can make a student think twice about bringing anything not sanctioned by the school board to a learning environment. Furthermore, teachers should not be able to scour through students items. That right should be reserved only for administrators,to protect students from teachers who single out students and appoint them as targets throughout the rest of the year. all these preventative methods can still be done, but students will always find a new way to get passed these obstacles. These set rules constantly have to be changing in order to adapt to the next generation and so on. For this to work school personnel cannot discriminate a group of students just because they talk or dress a certain way, it has to be equally just for other students or
groups. In the end these kids are the future leaders of our society and, we should remind ourselves that they're human too so instead of focusing on the consequences of their actions, try to lean towards rehabilitation and give them an escape from drugs and violence.
