is the driving force behind complex programs in computers and the minute decisions made in everyday life. Experience, in life and in fiction, is derived from past events. The use of the terms "experience" and "levels" in games does not only signify a goal marker but represents the conflicts in life and significance of which the outcome has influenced future decision-making. High leveled players are seen as a challenge because they recognize more tactics and strategies than those opposing them. As my actions are chosen by reason and efficiency, I value experience profoundly.
When I was younger, I encountered conflicts in my life and used the outcomes as the basis for future decision-making.
Trivial decisions such as staying up late, skipping breakfast, and procrastinating have had small, but monumental impacts on my decision-making. Through staying up late, I learned that I need enough sleep to wake up in the morning. By skipping breakfast, I realized I would be hungry throughout the day and unable to concentrate. Procrastination has taught me that exceptional work requires both time and effort. My parents have taught me more lessons than anyone simply by telling me not to do these things. Experience is not gained solely by reading books, attending school, or talking to parents; it is by experiencing first-hand that we become better than our mistakes. Being taught to own up to my mistakes and learn from them rather than sulk about them in regret is the most important lesson I have been taught. My parents taught me to respect my elders because they are wiser than me. My grandparents are wise because they have experienced more than both my parents and I. Pondering over what went wrong is a more productive use of time than complaining about what could have been. Improvement should be the first priority after learning of a
mistake.
My perception of logic and experience is meaningful to me because I align myself to this standard. By thinking logically, I make productive decisions to accomplish a goal efficiently. Explaining the way I think to others is often a challenge because not everyone thinks the same. For example, I do not understand the desire for paintings and other baubles, while my parents feel they provide a pleasant atmosphere to a room. When deciding on what to wear or where to eat, other people often take a more emotional approach than I do. I do not disregard emotion, as it is human nature, though I rely heavily on facts. I believe I use emotion when making decisions because emotions are created through logic. Others may question why I am content with my belongings, but I simply see no need to acquire more. I remain happy fixing what needs to be replaced and learning why it needed to be changed at all. If I happen to drop my phone and crack the screen, I fix it and learn to be more careful in the future. Experience is significant to me because it enhances my sense of logic. These values, and the actions made as a result of them, define who I am as a person.
