1. List the advantages of a relational model specific to ACME Global Consulting.

The relational database model specified for the ACME Global Consulting organizes given data in table series. Each of the table has fields specified with specifications regarding the data type stored (Easytoteach, 2011). The advantages of the relational model includes

• Conceptual simplicity, the model should be conceptually unsophisticated compared to the network and hierarchical models.

• Structural independence, with the specifications of the relational model for the ACME Global Consulting, any relative changes made on the structure should not affect the accessibility of data.

• Design implementation, the model specified is capable of archiving the structural independence and data independence.

• The model has query capability; the availability of the powerful, flexible, and simpler in usage capability is a significant reason behind the immense database model popularity.

• Flexibility, the model with the given differing tables that accommodates information has to link and have easy extraction for easy manipulation by the respective operators inclusive of projects and the join. This is to join and give the relevant information in the required form that is desired (Singh, 2009).

• Precision, this is significant in relation to the application of relational algebra and calculus for the manipulations of the link amid the given tables. This ensures that ambiguity is absent that may arisen following the establishment of linkages in a specified complex network database type (Singh, 2009). 2. Summarize in your own words the purpose of an E-R model specific to ACME Global Consulting.

The application of the E-R model by the ACME Global Consulting enables the presentation of a powerful database

The project for CIS336 is designed to touch all aspects of the fundamental concepts of database design and logical data modeling covered during the class. The project is team centered and each team will be responsible for designing, developing, and demonstrating the functionality of a database created based on a defined set of business specifications. At the end of the session, each project team will submit the database designed by the team and demonstrate the database's ability to deliver the required information as outlined in the project specifications. All aspects of the project will be ...…

One of the advantages is that the structure of an E-R model DBMS is the ease of use in that system. This allows the users of it to communicate with each other on a basis that isn’t as technical as some others, this will allow for fewer mistakes during the data entry and throughout the workforce and workday. The structure of this type of DBMS model allows software programmers and data entry employees to be able to communicate and interact with each other more easily and effectively should problems arise. This allows for a greater and more efficient workflow because the different employee groups will understand each other and be able to solve different issues that may arise within the DBMS.…

The differences in the architectures are based on how the tables and records are related. Relational architecture is a very popular database. It is also the most mature and widely used database system in production. Relational databases can be used to track patient care in the form of treatments, outcomes of those treatments, and critical indicators of a patient 's current state such as blood pressure, heart rate, and blood glucose levels. They can also be used to interconnect with multiple informational systems throughout a healthcare facility. Relational databases have the potential to eliminate paper storage and transfer of information and to answer important questions about healthcare efficacy. Relational systems serve as the repositories of record behind nearly all online transactions and most online content management systems including social networks. This database also serves as a well-understood point of reference for new extensions and revolutions in database systems that may arise in the future. Another type of database architecture is the Object-oriented model. This model is powerful and quite complex. With the relatively new object-relational database model is the wide spread and simple relational database model extended by some basic object-oriented concepts. These allow them to work with the relational database model but also have some advantages of the…

The development of database technology can be divided into three eras based on data model or structure: navigational, SQL/relational, and post-relational. The two main early navigational data models were the hierarchical model, epitomized by IBM's IMS system, and the Codasyl model (Network model), implemented in a number of products such as IDMS.…
