John woke up with the gleaming sun rays hitting his eyes in one of the most beautiful cities of the world which is full of history, culture, food, ancient art and architecture. In a matter of seconds, he was out running on the streets of Italy, wearing a t-shirt and shorts, with food shoved in his mouth. Although, he would love 100,000 but his main goal was to make his family and restaurant proud of him. He decided to make what his mum used to make a lot and that is Lomo Saltado. Lomo Saltado is a popular, traditional Peruvian dish, a stir fry that typically combines marinated strips sirloin with onions, tomatoes, french fries and other ingredients. His ingredients were ready now just had to wait for the timer to start. After a few minutes, Manu shouted “Your time starts…..now.” He started by marinating the strips of sirloin with onions, tomatoes, French fries and decided to add some nuts, bit of chillies, spicy sauce to the side. He put his marinated strips into the oven and started make his spicy sauce. He put 3 tomatoes, 2 red chillies, bit of chilli powder, half a cup of water and blended it. The result was brilliant, it came out with a red low velocity sauce. He took blender towards the plate and looked at the clock, as soon as he did that, his right foot slipped and he landed heavily on the ground. But the worst thing was the blender had shattered and the sauce was everywhere. ‘It was a mess’. There was glass was all over the place, there was 10 minutes to go. He doesn’t have time to clean up and create the sauce again. So he cleaned the place up, got the cooked marinated strips and placed it carefully in the plate. Although he would have loved the spicy sauce in the side, he was happy with what he had produced.
