Jones has to be aware when setting the performance appraisal system since some of the most popular American performance appraisal techniques like task analysis, goal- setting and self-appraisal method are not suitable for Russia. Such kind of direct feedback may destroy the harmony of the group in which it is expected to govern the interpersonal relationship. Thus, indirectly feedback would be the most effective performance appraisals in Russia culture if they were based on the objectives of the work teams since it is characterized by high collectivist culture. I hope Mr. Jones can have a more clear understanding between the American culture and the Russian culture since they are totally different from the roots. Through the analysis of the Russian management concept by applying the Hofstede cultural theories, Mr. Jones would know what he should pay attention to and how to communicate with his peers in his new working environment. In addition, it is very important that he should show genuine, love and honesty and has to learn to be straightforward and respectful in order to deal with the Russian.
