The theme of lord of the flies is to not stop at anything to reach your. This theme is developed by charecters setting and plot. The lord of the flies is a story about a bunch of castaway kids. These kids had esablished a leader ,Ralph. Thay also have a bunch of hunters led by Jack Merridew. First is the theme of the book, not stopping at anything to reach your goals. Ralph who was voted the leader of all the boys, wanted to be rescued most of all. So Ralph on page 81 banned the use of fire anywere other than the mountain top. He was sacrificing the convenience of everybody so they could be
The mountain on the island allows for them to be rescued easier because of the flame you can put up there. So Ralph can have it easier to not give up. The setting of the island is harsh so the charecters have to struggle. Which makes it hard for the rest of the boys goals of staying alive. The setting of the story helps develop the theme by the ships that will pass by so the rescuing job is possible and they have more hope. The plot of the story helped develop the theme of never giving up by providing challenges like the failiure of the fire. When the littluns spotted a "beast" it distracted the older boys from the task at hand but they were able to resolve that there was no such thing but many little ones did not believe that. As I said this posed a obstacle to go around because of the distraction.The plot also developed the theme by the ship that passed while the fire was out. It made Ralph more aware and work harder at his goal to get rescued. Another sign of the plot developing the theme is Piggy always being pushed away from everything but he still keeps on trying to get into all the action so he is stopping at nothing to be a part of the group.
