1. Identify the stakeholders
a. Leon- On one side are Leon’s principle/beliefs and on the other side the friendship and trust of his coworkers which might be affected if he does do something about Ralph drinking during work hours.
b. Ralph- depending on what Leon chooses to do, Ralph was on the brink of loosing his credibility for a company where he’s been working for a very long time.
c. Other coworkers working overnights- Their safety is at risk, as a drunk co-worker oversees driving the forklift which may be used to transfer heavy and bulky paper.
d. Gary and Ralph’s friendship- If Gary is not aware about the fact that Ralph drinks during work hours, not only Ralph will be in danger of loosing his job He might also lose the trust of his close …show more content…
Main Arguments that Leon is trying to counter for not saying anything
a. Leon does not want to put his friendship at risk by ratting out the fact that he works under the influence of alcohol.
b. He also would not want Ralph (his mentor) fired.
c. He told the other people and they did not find it to be a big deal and asked Leon to let it go.
d. The fact that he is considerably new as compared to everyone else working around him, Leon might not be aware of the way how everything works at the organization. Maybe Ralph has been doing for it for a long time and it does not affect his performance.
e. Ralph was the only person in the organization who understood that Leon was not ready to be left alone working, it was Leon’s chance to repay the faith Ralph had in him when everyone else was against him.
3. Arguments Leon can use to counter the above reasons
a. It’s against what Leon personally believes in.
b. The safety of the coworkers working late night is risked.
c. Leon will just be following the professional standards that everyone in the organization is supposed to follow.
d. He will also be saving the integrity of the company by doing something about the
