William Shakespeare was that there were so many perspectives on what the play was really about. Some believed that the play was about how intense love can be and others believed that it was a mockery of young love. …show more content…
In the past two years I have also found out many methods of learning and planning that have been working for me.
I have learnt that just listening to whatever it is we are talking about or reading has been very useful because it makes remembering the content easier. I have also found that I am better at writing assignments with a very specific structure. Structures such as SEEEC and introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and conclusion help me a lot when writing because it allows you to know exactly what you have to write next without having to figure out what goes in between. I also have found that highlighting my notes is very effective because it makes it easy to find the main points quickly when going back to it. It also allows me to listen to the teacher while finding the important
information. Along with finding methods of learning and planning that work for me, I have found some methods that do not work for me. Having to present my information to the class doesn’t tend to work for me because when I know I’m presenting it, I water down the information and try to get through it quickly. I have also found that copying down notes is pretty ineffective because the focus is on getting the information down quickly and not taking the time to learn it. My writing also becomes hard to read after fifteen minutes of copying. After reflecting on my strengths and weaknesses from the past couple years, I have made a few goals to achieve by the end of this semester. First, I want to be able to participate more in discussions this year because the last two years, I very rarely put my hand up. This year I want to change that because I want to share my ideas and insights. This year I also want to improve my grammar. I grew up in multilingual household, so my grammar is a mix of the languages I speak, and I want to be able to improve my writing. I also want to be able to understand and annotate poems better because I am not very good at it and I think it would benefit me in my school work later on. In conclusion, those are my strengths, weaknesses and goals of high school English.
