Lord Of The Rings Vs Odyssey

The Odyssey and Lord of the Rings are similar,yet, unalike. Lord of the Rings has a variety of main characters. The Odyssey is different in this manner. The Odyssey only contains one main character. Although the Odyssey does seat only one main character, it does not reduce its amount of epic characteristics found. Lord of the Rings has several main characters, as stated before, but does hold a primary hero. Both heroes had come up against people, monsters, or gods. The problems encountered in the Odyssey are due to the hero appearing bleak in the eyes of certain gods. The hero in Lord of the Rings encounters different complications than the hero of the Odyssey. Alternatively, both heroes had different ambitions or motivations. By way of example Odysseus
This is different than the hero in Lord of the Rings. Frodo Baggins seems to lack almost all characteristics a hero generally has. Odysseus is a robust hero. This isn’t clearly stated in the Odyssey, but this characteristic is told through acts accomplished in the epic. However, Frodo does not share this characteristic. Frodo isn’t able to complete tasks Odysseus accomplished through brute force. Odysseus is a valiant man. Odysseus was willing to do anything to return home. Although the gods opposed Odysseus, he fought through to return to Ithaca. Nevertheless, this gallant quality is not present with Frodo, at first. At the beginning of his adventures, Frodo himself believes he is not an audacious hobbit. The dawn of Frodo’s quest shows this. As he carried through his trek, he was able to accrue more confidence and courage. A quality both characters have would be intelligence. Though they are not intuitive in the same way, this quality helps each of them throughout their journeys. Their intelligence had given them curiosity which led them into conflicts.These characteristics have either cause problems or have been the resolution to
