Odysseus Heroic Traits

Odysseus is an epic hero in various ways. He is known for his strength, craftiness, and confidence. In book one, the line, “.. of the man skilled in all ways of contending.” is talking about Odysseus and is quoting that Odysseus is clever and skilled. Odysseus is also mentally strong in the way how he had to leave his family to go to battle and not being able to see them during 20 years. He is also very confident and believes he can do numerous activities. Odysseus is helped and harmed by interfering gods. For example, he is helped by Athena is battle when he returns home and kills all the men that have disrespected his wife, son, servants, house, and him. In addition, Odysseus emerges from perilous situations successfully. To illustrate,
he hears the Sirens sing and passed through them successfully because he was tied up.
