in the book it described Grandma Sands as being a small, pruny, old lady whereas in the movie she was a young, large-framed lady. A second way the two stories were different was in the book, Joetta had no clue about the bombing, while in the movie Joetta knew that a bomb went off in her church. Finally, the two stories were different because in the book, Byron kissed the mirror on the car, but in the movie he kissed a window.…
There are many differences between the book and the movie. For example in the book hen susie's soul leaves the earth she touches ruth on the soccer field. But in the movie she touches her as she is walking home on the street. Another differences is also shown when lindsey is in Mr. Harveys house searching for evidence , because in the book she rips a…
Some differences were that in the movie Charlie seemed like he had temper issues. Whenever Charlie thought that someone was making fun of him he would start arguing. In the book Charlie was nice throughout the story and when he found out how people treated him. Charlie’s job was different too. In the book Charlie worked in a Plastic factory and in the movie Charlie worked in a bakery. In the movie Charlie also went to Chicago for a presentation of the surgery and to show the results of it.…
The book a streetcar named desire is about a girl called Blanche Dubois, she’s a very depressing girl because she caught her husband cheating with another man in the 1980’s. But, there’s many element that are many difference between the book and the movie. First of all, the first difference that was really easy to see was the way the paper boy was acting toward Blanche. In the book, when Blanche was trying to flirt with him he wasn’t really into her, he was scared and shocked and he backed off but in the movie he was really into her…
Some of the character differences and similarities are that in Act 1 Scene I, Sampson who was a Capulet Servant wants to fight but, in the movie Sampson was just walking around and bumped into a Montague servant. In Act 3 Scene I Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, came back to fight after he killed Mercutio but, in the movie Tybalt just walks away and Romeo ran after him to start another fight. In the book when Romeo was killing Tybalt he got hit in the neck, but in the movie he got hit in the heart. In Act 4 Scene 3 in the book Capulet pushes Juliet when she is supposedly dead but in the movie Capulet just leaves her be. The most important difference in the character section is in Act 5 Scene 5 when Paris is at Juliet’s grave Paris gets killed by Romeo but in the movie Paris isn’t even at the grave site and isn’t killed! Some of the similarities is Juliet’s nurse is crazy when she is talking about marriage and how…
The settings, however are very different. The play takes place in Italy back in Shakespeare's times, but the movie takes place in the 1990s at a high school in Seattle, Washington. Though they may be set in different time…
The major differences that I noticed between the book and the movie are: the mouse doesn't die at the end in the movie, and there is no real character in the nursing home that bugs Paul in the movie like there was in the book. A smaller detail that is different is that in the book Paul asks Coffey to tie his shoe and Coffey can't do it. This turned into a major point in the book because it went through how the dog was killed with meat and Coffey was carrying his lunch tied up, when he was found with the girls. The only way…
After Mr. Doolittle is made into a wealthy man, which happens in both works, he marries his live-in girlfriend. In the play, he visits Mrs. Higgin's before going to the church to get married where as in the movie he doesn't visit her at all. The first point in the play when you find…
In the play I think it came more to life because the period of time that was used can be related by more people. Meanwhile in the movie, I think the differences made it come more to life because there was a clear story with an introduction and background for each character instead of being plopped right into the the action. Furthermore, the characters were believable in both the movie and the production since I could clearly tell that each character had a clear personality while watching both of them. If I was the director of the movie, I would’ve wanted something that gave the movie life like extra scenes and characters to give the movie more depth. If the play production was directed by me I probably would’ve stayed faithful to the script…
Many reasons go into why the movie had a larger impact on me, with the main reason being that it shows the audience exactly what happens. When looking at the written play I can see how it has many of the same facts that the movie has. However, when reading a play I had to imagine the scenes in my head, and having that imagery only in my head does not compare to having it right in front of me in the form of a movie. A specific scene that took place both in the movie and in the play was a scene where the house with the Annex got broken into. This, seemingly, important and crucial part of the story was portrayed in a much more dramatic way in the movie.…
The roles and social status of the characters are distinctively different. Lillian Gish portrays a young girl whose father has recently passed away, and is trembling with fear…
The Acts in the play are mostly in one set location, whereas in the film the setting changes more often. Plays are limited to the confines of the stage and are less effective at demonstrating the full scope of a setting. Unlike the play which started and stayed in Algernon’s home, the beginning of the film demonstrates to the reader the scope of the city. It begins with Algernon being pursued through the streets at night, then the next evening he converses with Jack at a nightclub and their conversation extended to them walking the streets of the city at night. Although I could go on all night with similarities, there were also a few things different from this movie to the play, such as the nurse. Her character in the play was sassy and spoke her mind freely but in this movie version she was severely down played. Her lines were cut and she came over as more docile, completely different from the 1968 version or the…
The book and movie are very different. The book is way more descriptive and longer. In the movie abigail is less of a rude person compared to how the book makes her look. The book shows more emotion and the feelings of the character feel more real. The book is just way more interesting. The book only goes a little bit into detail with feelings.…
One difference is that there are some events that happen in the movie that aren’t in the book. For example, in the beginning of the movie, they showed newspapers with reports of Hogwarts, magic, magical creatures, and wizards and witches. This doesn’t happen in the book at…
