The first thing a person should consider when trying to know the difference between love and infatuation is interest. A person who is infatuated with someone is interested in that person for purely external reasons. For instance, suppose a guy sees hot women, he thinks she is "totally hot." His heart begins to beat faster and his knees go weak, he may think he's falling in love but in reality he's falling in infatuation. True love is deeper than that.
Love takes time, a long time. When you are in love, feelings grow gradually and it lasts for a long time like years. On the other hand, infatuation takes just a glance and you start feeling “something” for that person. The feeling instantly grows and instantly fades. Infatuation does not last for a long time, usually a month or more.
When a person is truly in love with someone else he is interested in that person's inner beauty. He cares more about that person's character and personality traits than how cute he or she may look in a pair of jeans. To become infatuated with someone takes only a second, but it takes time to become in love with someone because love is based on more than just superficial interests. Infatuation is a feeling or a state of being totally carried away by unreasoning desire. Fascination, crush, desire or obsession of another person is infatuations. However, love is a feeling of strong affection for another person. It is patient, kind, and forgiving. It does not want something in return.

Love can be seen in many different ways for many different people. Though, the internet states it as an intense feeling of deep affection. “I rather my life were ended by hate than I live without your love”(Romeo and Juliet 2.2.75). Romeo had feelings for another girl before Juliet. He loved her in his mind. I think he was infatuated with her because when he met Juliet all of his feelings went away. So in my opinion the same thing is going to happen to Juliet. Love and infatuation are words that people get confused with and think they mean the same thing. To be in love you have to make sure that you are in love with them not infatuated with. You can’t be with someone and know that it is going to be a temporary thing and only be with them because they are attractive or because they have one quality that you are interested in. Love is much more than that, some people don’t believe in love themselves and think they will never experience it. But once they find the person that they are meant to be with they will understand the true meaning of…

Infatuation can be defined as “puppy love” or “the temporary love of an adolescent” (Word Net). Therefore, this concludes that many adolescent relationships are short-lived. For instance, William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is frequently called a true love story, but really, the two protagonists, Romeo and Juliet are merely infatuated. First, in most relationships, true love takes time to develop, and Romeo and Juliet only know each other for a couple of days when they decide to marry. Furthermore, Romeo and Juliet constantly refer to each other’s looks, rather than to their true personality, which is a clear sign that they are simply infatuated. Finally, Romeo and Juliet are too young and naïve for their bond to be…

I would like to thank my ex boyfriends for coming into my life. Because of them, I was able to distinguish the difference between the two words. So let me give you some clarity about this confusion. For starters, love is when you’re willing to give your last bite to that person, no matter how hungry you are and how mouthwatering the hamburger is. Infatuation is asking that person to buy you hamburger and when s/he does, you feel flattered. See, loving someone is sharing what you have. Isn’t it a beautiful feeling to eat with the person you love, sharing each other’s food and seeing that person chew while smiling at you? Isn’t it bliss when the love is reciprocated? Being infatuated is allowing yourself to be foolish, irrational and selfish just because you are blinded with your impulse and emotions. You want to be pleased most of the time. Infatuation is likely to be unrequited and sometimes would result to obsession.…
