The Loyalty and Loss written by Margaret M. Storey is a well-written and persuasive book studying how the Unionists in Alabama, the Deep South state, confronted the Confederate authorities during the civil war and their life in the Reconstruction. The first interesting thing I found was that the diversity of the Unionists. The author tried to find the similarities among the different Unionists and surprisingly she found out that the Unionists were highly distributed. Some of them could from the infertile hill county and the others could from the rich Tennessee Valley. No matter how different their backgrounds were, all of them undertook great risks on defying the confederate authorities and fight for their belief.…

Loyalty is faithfulness and devotion to a person. If a person is loyal to you it means the trust you. Not only close friends and family expect you to be loyal to them buy also companies, such as phone companies; they provided you with the network and bundles, so they expect you to be loyal to them and pay what you’re charged and vice-versa.…
Beowulf and Dr. King provide examples of loyalty in their actions. Beowulf is loyal to Hrothgar by repaying Ecgtheow. Beowulf is also loyal to his own king by bringing home some of the treasure that he earned during his adventures. Dr. King was loyal because he stayed with his goal, even if he had some roadblocks facing him. This includes receiving death threats. Dr. King kept fighting for what he thought was right. Beowulf and Dr. King were loyal to their mission especially in times of extreme adversity.…
The notion of family loyalty is displayed throughout the film as a driving force to override corruption, the workers on the waterfront can be considered a family as their struggle from corruption forces them to on each other for survival. The loyalty between the shore men’s families grips Edie as her Brother Joey’s murder increases her family loyalty to find his killer, but also Johnny Friendly’s power over the shoremen workers makes sure that their loyalty towards him is kept sacred so his corruption is not caught out.…
Loyalty can be known as a commitment a person will take to show their worthiness. In "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight," loyalty had been misused by Sir Gawain. Gawain had broken his promise to the king he had stayed with by not giving him the girdle the queen had given him. This action made Gawain un loyal because he broke the one rule the king had given him. A similar action takes place in the present day, in which an act of un loyalty can be made through marriage. Husbands or wives can break their vows by cheating on their spouse. Just like Gawain who had cheated his own way out of the castle. These two scenarios both show acts of breaking a commitment known as un loyalty, which defies chivalry.…
The novel Of Mice and Men shows many examples of commitment and loyalty. Lennie respects very highly of George all the time. Lennie is mentally slow, so he might think of George as his master, but they are best friends. George is committed to reach his dream. He has always wanted to own a small “dream farm,” and many people are financially supporting him. Even though he doesn’t end up with the dream farm in the novel, he still worked very hard for it. Lastly, everyone was loyal to Slim. The rest of the characters considered him as the “prince” of the farm. All of this shows how people were loyal to others, whether in the right or wrong way, and how you should work hard to fulfill your dreams, even if it does not work out as expected.…

In the story the author uses many situations and circumstances to demonstrate loyalty. Loyalty is the state or quality of being loyal, faithfulness to commitments or obligations. Don Quixote is a man that believes in being loyal, and he expects the people that he encounters to be the same way.…
At a young age, I was attracted to my neighborhood church. I remember waking up to dress and walk myself there, to be around others in the community coming together for united purposes. After reading this specific lens focuses its ideals as said ‘through Nature or given by God’ as the way for man kind to strive to abide. A secondary value of this lens is loyalty. Nowadays, I find myself having to think about how far one should take loyalty. I have been in many debates on fairness to others. Defending friendships or family to the point where I’ve lost a few friendships from debating what I thought was right in a situation and came off too strong.…
The next element of the bond is commitment. Commitment is the idea that people who are committed to things that hold value in their lives, such as an education, career, marriage, or family, then they are less likely to commit crime; “the person becomes committed to a conventional line of action, and he is therefore committed…

The use of critical thinking is imperative when trying to persuade others. One must effectively use the three types of appeals in order to be successful. I have noticed how Danielle Crittenden and Judy Brady have used the three appeals in their essays “About Love” and “I Want a Wife.” Crittenden and Brady’s use of tone greatly effects how the audience perceives their writing.…
Loyalty is something that I take very serious to an extreme level. Believing in the things I believe in has helped me chose the crowds I hang with or associate myself with. My faith doesn’t allow me to neglect anyone and I choose to simply not neglect. I associate with all people of all crowds no matter what, what matters is who I consider calling a “friend”. Being called a friend doesn’t have anything to do with their status or popularity but if I believe that they truly have my best interest. Someone that knows I’m loyal to them just like they are loyal to me. My mother was my ultimate friend and once said to me “Joe some people would buy a front row ticket just to watch you struggle”. I never understood that until a few years back after going through the line of betrayal I had faced from friends, even family. I mean to have family members look you into the eye and tell you they have your back or will come through for you on something and don’t, it hurts. I understand no one is perfect but when it becomes routine it allows you to become stronger, better and selective about whom you accept as a true friend. I have learned that everyone isn’t meant to be your friend and I’m okay with that, it’s taken some time, but I’ve grown and learned to accept it. It’s nothing I take personal, I just now strive to be a positive impact or have a positive role in every life I associate myself with. So even with knowing that some won’t be loyal, I still allow myself to forgive and move forward hoping they learn the what positivity can do to one’s life.…
