The New England colonies were founded by the puritans who came to escape religious persecution. The puritans didn’t have any separation between the church and state, they mainly had a theocracy with the pastor as the head of the colony. They also based all of their rules off of the bible, the people who were considered “criminals” were people who had completed sins. Laws were not imposed by the monarch but by common law. In the middle colonies, the Quaker women had more rights politically. There were governors in New York and the colonist could elect representatives to an assembly. The southern colonies created the first elected legislature in 1619, the House of Burgesses, only white men who owned property could be elected or vote. The Toleration…

The Great Awakening was a sort of religious revival that swept through the English colonies and was a reaction against the Enlightenment which had started due to the mass of wealth and greed of the church and upper class, leading to up to the American Revolution by inspiring an idea of democracy and independence in the colonists. Not all nonsilicate minerals groups make sense chemically, for instance a nonsilicate would be granite, which is made up of partly quartz, which is in fact a silicate. The non-silicate mineral groups collectively…

Finding out where, how and what you can collect can be complicated. The rock collector will learn quite a bit of petrology, mineralogy and geology in their search. The most definitive characteristics of a rock or a mineral is its hardness, which you can determine by comparing it against the standardized Mohs Scale of Hardness. Many states regulate the collection of some rocks and minerals, even on public lands, so it is advisable to read up on local news before prospecting. Rock and mineral collecting is prohibited in national parks.…
