After a short mail-request marriage to a Filipino lady who dumped him in 1986 for beating and assaulting her, he at long last went full Gary Heidnik. Snatching Josefina Rivera and imprisoning her in the cellar of his house. After being tourted an sexually assaulted and beaten he snatched five more women over various periods. Each at one time was shackled to pipes and were subjects to his vicious and sexual preferences. One lady, Sandra Lindsay died of maltreatment leading to his closest catch with the law; the stench of burning bits of her eviscerated cadaver in his stove pulled in suspicion of neighbors. Heidnik coolly shooed away the reacting cops with a story about burning his weekly roast. All the women were “subjected to beatings, torture and were raped on a daily basis.” (B, 2006, para 8). This became a normal routine for Heidnik. To the remaining and continuing incoming women he would use shock therapy on the women and would shove screwdrivers into their ears. Rivera said “Heidnik told her, came from watching the cult movie, “Eating Raoul.”” (B, 2006, para. 3). Debbie Dudley, who was 23, had also been found and had died in the chamber of…

Dr. Harold Shipman would be considered a psychopath because he displayed qualities of one during the time of his crimes. Psychopaths usually have charming or disarming personalities and can easily gain people’s trust. Shipman was thought as very kind and had the trust of all of his patients. Everyone is aware there are different types of murders out there. All of them take people’s lives but how they do it in each category is different. In the case of serial killers they kill three or more individuals spaced out over a period of time. They tend to go through phases which include the killing phase, capture phase, aura phase, totem phase, and the depression phase. The phases do not happen in a specific order and not all serial killers experience all of them. Each individual is different. However, during the aura phase the killer becomes withdrawn from reality and tends to have heightened senses. During the killing phase is when the killer actually takes the victims life and that normally leads to the totem phase. This is when the killer tends to take a memento of the ‘moment’. For example, Albert Fish would take body parts to cook and eat. Serial killers may experience a phase of depression after the initial effects of the kill wears off, which is normally why the totem phase takes place (to prolong the experience). There is also the capture phase, which generally takes place prior to killing the victim. During this phase the killer renders the victim helpless in a way in which they cannot escape their captivity (Kitaeff, 2011, p. 102). It is quite complex and disturbing. Let’s move onto a serial killer case that is disturbing and riveting and claimed potentially hundreds of children’s lives.…

Jack the Ripper is one of the most infamous names in the history of mass murderers. There are many other people who have killed far more people than this mysterious figure, but have been long forgotten. Jack the Ripper is only credited with the murder of five prostitutes but his legend still lives on almost one hundred thirty years later. But why? A few likely reasons have to do with the sheer heinousness of his crimes. His victims were not merely stabbed, shot, or even beaten to death. The title “Jack the Ripper” was earned in the most horrible of ways. Jack the Ripper did not just snuff out a life with a knife, he meant to humiliate the women that the ruthlessly mutilated. He seemed to have a deep hate for the entire female gender.…

WhiteChapel Jack says, Martha was drinking on August 6, 1888 with another prostitute and some gentlemen, later that night she was walking home but never made it, the morning after on August 7 a man was coming home around 3:30 in the morning and saw her body but it was too dark and he mistook it for just a passed out drunk woman it wasn't until 5am another individual was going to the same apartment building and saw her gruesome wounds (Jack the Ripper Murder Victims). To become a serial killer by definition you would have had to kill two or more people over a period of time from hours to years. There are even different kinds, there are the ones that do it for profit, for political reasons, and even the occasional professionals that do it for a “family”. Most serial killers have a compulsion or sexual need that drives them to kill, and John Wayne Gacy was no exception. His killing spree lasted for years and his addiction to torturing, raping, and eventually killing them lead him to hiding their bodies beneath the floorboards of his home. Although the end result was his death by lethal injection in 1994, what can be noted before in his life that could have been seen as early warning signs? In the study of…

He told on himself out after he pretty much got away with the murder. He told on himself because he thought they could hear the man's heartbeat like he claims he can. This is called shallow affect and impulsivity. He almost got away with it after using a lot of confidence. Having a lot of confidence is thinking you're superior to everyone and that he thought he knew what he was doing. Then he ruined it by claiming he was already caught because he thought he could hear the man's heartbeat and claiming so could they.…
