MBIT Assessment

The general result and corresponding description I received in the MBIT assessment seems to be quite accurate. The type descripting for INTJ did honestly feel like it was describing me pretty directly. I’ve always considered myself incisive and an excellent problem solver who knows how to recognize when things “work” and can judge based value based on that. On part of the type analysis that seemed pretty insightful for my owner personality mentioned that while INTJ’s often lack empathy to help them manage relationships, they have a strong ability to “work at” relationship building and management. An example to that is that I’m often quick to take on additional burden from somebody else or spend more of my own energy to save somebody I have
It states that INTJ’s “can rise to management positions when they are willing to invest time in marketing their abilities as well as enhancing them”. This reflects my professional career pretty well and makes me think of numerous examples. Prior to taking on management roles, I found it easy to excel at my job and move quickly up the ranks. Over the past few years having taken on management positions, I have to put a lot of energy into and force myself to focus on selling myself more and working to explain how the organization can benefit from the hard skills I’m familiar with when I often just want to isolate myself and dive deeper on improving myself with these technical skills. As an example, recently I’ve been leading a large effort at work to bring in a new technology that will benefit dozens of different software development teams. I’m often challenged to spend time to lead by documenting and explaining how to use this new technology rather than just continue to make progress by individually developing software with this new technology while learning more about
